Tangled Temptations

Chapter 86

Harvey asked with a smile, "Where's Mr. Velona?"

Officer Ferris gave a slight nod, "Don't worry, we're taking good care of him."

Harvey strolled in.

The police station was bustling with quite a few folks there.

The guy who had fought with Max was happily devouring pizza, looking utterly content.

The manager sat quietly with a young girl who wore a black tank top under a blazer, shaking like a leaf. She looked up at the sound of footsteps, then froze.

She had never seen such a handsome and dashing man!

His aura made her feel incredibly awkward, as if she, a woman like her, didn't deserve to be in his presence.

Harvey's gaze fell on her face.

She bore some resemblance to Eloise, and Harvey quickly pieced together what had transpired.

He sneered at Max.

Max met Harvey's gaze, a hint of defiance faintly detectable in his eyes. Others might not notice, but Harvey saw it clear as day. He chuckled softly but didn't say a word.

"Officer Ferris!" Harvey whispered, "What do I need to do?"

Officer Ferris had already prepared everything.

"Attorney, just sign here, pay, and you're good to go."

Harvey glanced over, then casually said, "I'll bail these people out too, and about tonight's incident."

Officer Ferris got his drift.

Rich folks dreaded scandals, especially when family members who were up to no good cause headaches. He quickly assured, "Attorney, rest easy. This ends here."

Harvey promptly wrapped up the paperwork.

The guy who had fought with Max complained loudly, "I don't need his help. I don't want to owe him any favours."

Officer Ferris was about to lose his cool.

Harvey waved his hand dismissively, took out his phone, and casually said, "No problem! I can call your dad to come bail you out! Let him know what his precious son has been up to!"

The guy went silent instantly. His father knew this man!

Seeing that the guy had been put in his place, Harvey chose not to press further and walked out of the station.

Officer Ferris kissed the check and waved enthusiastically, "Attorney, looking forward to next time."

Harvey ignored him.

He got into his car, lit a cigarette, and took a slow drag.

Max walked over.

Harvey said flatly, "Get in."

Max seemed to have anticipated this. He smiled slightly, opened the car door, and got in.

As soon as he was in, Harvey started the car. The luxury vehicle offered excellent performance, accelerating quickly. Max had had quite a few drinks, and now he

felt a wave of nausea. He suspected Harvey did this on purpose.

Harvey drove fast, and the bustling street lights flashed past.

Inside the car, no one spoke.

About half an hour later, Harvey parked by the beach. It was tranquil, with only the sound of waves hitting the shore.

"Get out." Harvey's voice was icy.

Max sneered, and he followed Harvey out of the car.

As soon as he got out, Harvey removed his jacket, unbuttoned a few buttons on

his shirt, and without much small talk, he started throwing punches.noveldrama

Max was pushed back several steps with one punch.

He steadied himself and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

Harvey kicked him hard again, "Max, did you really think the Horigan family was done for? If you didn't like Orlena, you shouldn't have seduced her. Does it make you feel accomplished seeing her love you so much that she'd even kill herself for you?"

Max was kicked to the ground. He clutched his stomach in agony, but he still managed to force a smile.

"I'm a jerk! I wronged her! But what about you, Harvey? Didn't you know what kind

of person I am? Why, then, did you still marry your sister off to me? What right do you have to accuse me? You clearly knew Eloise was my ex. Why did you still get with her?"

Max's eyes were filled with rage.
