Tangled Temptations

Chapter 87

Harvey chuckled, "Let me clue you in on why."

He stood in the evening breeze.

Looking down at Max, Harvey snickered, "Regretting now, are we? Only realizing you're head over heels for Eloise after she's with me? Max, it's all been your own doing. Like that trap you set for Angus early on. Or your deliberate seduction of Eloise. You had every chance to back out, but time and again, you chose power."

Max wobbled to his feet, his face ashen.

Harvey smirked, "You were the one who let her go. You handed her right over to me."

Max's lips began to tremble, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.

Harvey stared at him, smirking again, "Max, cut the act. You're not worthy of Eloise."noveldrama

Max glared at Harvey.

There was a line of faint love bites on Harvey's neck, quite dense, clearly left by a long session of kissing.

Max swallowed hard. He couldn't help but wonder, how many times had they done it tonight?

Harvey followed his gaze and looked down.

During their intimate moments tonight, Eloise had gently nibbled at his shoulder. The air in the room had been thick with their scent.

Harvey was a man of taste. He didn't spill the details.

Though his relationship with Eloise was temporary, he didn't take her lightly. In fact, he quite liked her character, her cooking, and every aspect of her body.

Harvey ground out his cigarette.

He told Max, "Everyone has a breaking point. You should be grateful that Orlena still has feelings for you. Otherwise, for what you've done, you'd be behind bars by now."

Max let out a soft chuckle.

As if he'd finally figured something out, he said, "Thanks for the lesson. I'll be a good husband from now on. I won't let Orlena shed a single tear."

Harvey, who had seen all sorts of tough characters, was taken aback by Max's reaction.

Max had seemed down and out just moments ago, but now he was cool as a cucumber.

Talk about cold-hearted! Ruthless!

Harvey didn't want to get tangled up with him anymore. Right then, his phone rang. It was Eloise.

He picked up the call right in front of Max.

"Mmm, I'll be right back. I've almost wrapped things up. Didn't I tell you to go to bed first? Why are you still waiting for me? Up for another round?"

Harvey did not attempt to hide his desire for Eloise, flirting with her right in front of Max and he had his phone on speaker.

Eloise's voice was sweet, "Harvey, can we pick up where we left off tomorrow night?"

Max stiffened, his hand clenched into a tight fist, his whole demeanour dark. Harvey drove off.

Max just stood there by the sea, immobile.

The sea breeze gently blew Eloise's words away, but they left a deep impression on Max's heart.

She had said, "Harvey, can we pick up where we left off tomorrow night."

There was no hint of reluctance in her voice. On the contrary, it was sweet, as if

she had just been held tightly by a man not long ago.

A warm liquid trickled down his cheek.

He touched it and realized it was a tear.

He, Max, was crying. It was ironic, an absolute joke.

Just because of a woman, what right did she have to make him cry?

As for liking someone who hasn't had a few crushes.
