Tangled Temptations

Chapter 274

Harvey was not a man who liked to make concessions. In his memory, he never had a special woman in his life. The years had passed, but now he found himself with a wife, a young and attractive one at that, who was carrying his child. The mere thought was enough to excite him!

Although he didn't have feelings for her, he couldn't deny the physical attraction.

Caught off guard, Eloise found herself pinned against the foot of the bed. Guided by his male instincts, he held her slim waist, stirring her incessantly.

Eloise felt uncomfortable and scared. She was afraid that Harvey could unintentionally harm the baby, so even though she wanted to be close to him, she found it hard to let herself go.

The whole situation was rather unsuccessful.

Leaning close to her ear, Harvey teased with a hint of wickedness. "Don't you love me? Why don't you want me to touch you? Look at yourself, you don't feel a thing, do you?"

A tear trickled down Eloise's cheek. She turned her face away, feeling embarrassed. "I'm pregnant! I don't want to do this!"

Harvey gently caressed her protruding, soft belly, where his child was being nurture He thought, he would never have these feelings for a pregnant woman if it wasn't his own child!

Mutual attraction between a man and a woman, always requires some emotion. With her lack of response, he lost interest, intending to head to the bathroom.

A faint noise interrupted him from beyond the solid bedroom door. Peeking through the gap was a little curly brunette head, crying out like a kitten, "Mommy!"

Eloise froze. She'd been taken advantage of by Harvey and felt miserable. Her voice trembled weakly, "Mommy's here!"

Her clothes were in disarray, but thankfully, the room was dimly lit. Both parents quickly got dressed. Especially Harvey, his face was as dark as thunder. He had never considered a child could interrupt them.

Linda climbed onto the bed, holding something. She skillfully crawled into her father's arms, took out a plastic stethoscope, and placed her soft little hand on Harvey's chest. "Grandpa said Daddy's sick. I will cure Daddy!"

With a flick of the switch, the room was suddenly bathed in bright light. Harvey's handsome face turned red, lingering lust still visible. Linda patted his face, noticing his flushed complexion. She was convinced he must've been sick. She diligently checked her father for any serious illness.

Eloise looked equally distressed. She took the opportunity to adjust her clothes and slipped into the bathroom. Harvey was grinding his teeth. This woman sure knew how to run!

Linda, with her curly hair bouncing, blinked at him. "Daddy, your heartbeat is so fast!" She was sure he was sick. Linda took out a small bottle and poured out two colorful little pills. "Daddy, take your medicine!"

Harvey looked at the bottle. It was rainbow candy. He wouldn't usually eat such sweet stuff.

Linda's eyes welled up with tears, looking like a pitiful little puppy. Harvey's face stiffened. He forced himself to swallow the two candies. A sweet taste filled his mouth, but they were surprisingly not bad.

Linda stroked his head. "Daddy, you're so well-behaved!"

She was always longing for her father's affection. If Harvey didn't reject her, she would've pushed the boundaries even further. She pulled out a fairy tale book and handed it to Harvey, cuddling comfortably into his arms. Her little barefoot rested on his belly.

No one could resist such a cute little girl.

Harvey never used to like children, but perhaps because he knew she was his own, or maybe because she was so clever, he couldn't bear to disappoint her. He leaned against the headboard, with one hand lightly holding the little one. He started reading the fairy tale, albeit a little rusty due to lost memory.

Linda was quite displeased. "You don't read as well as my Dad from before!"

The Dad from before... Harvey was taken aback; it took a moment for him to realize that she was referring to him before his memory loss.

Was he really deeply in love with his wife and daughter back then? Was he a good husband?

Harvey couldn't imagine. He continued reading the fairy tale until Linda fell asleep in his arm She was really warm, despite her small body. Holding her felt like hugging a warm furnace on this chilly autumn night.

Under the dim light, Harvey studied the little one in his arms. Her features were delicate and beautiful. She had soft, rosy skin, and a head full of curly brunette hair. She took after Eloise in looks. But her character, he could tell in just half a day, was definitely like his!noveldrama

Without needing a DNA test, he was certain she was his flesh and blood.

Harvey gently lifted Linda and placed her on the side, watching her silently for a moment before heading into the bathroom.

...

Inside, Eloise was lost in thought. She was still wearing her soft cotton floral dress. Her profile was very attractive. She was his type, and due to her pregnancy, she had an added touch of femininity. He thought, if she wasn't pregnant, her figure would've definitely been outstanding. Otherwise, he wouldn't have fallen for her.

Once he had calmed down, Harvey was willing to be honest with her. He leaned against the wall, speaking in a calm tone, "I remember, you used to be Max's girlfriend! Even though I know what happened later, it's hard for me to imagine that we would get married and have a child..."

Harvey knew how picky he was when it came to women. Back in the day, there were many women who came and went in his life, but none of them caught his eye. So he was baffled, how could he have loved her so much? How could he have watched Joan die for her sake?

Upon hearing this, Eloise looked at him. Although he didn't say it all, she knew what he was thinking- He knew Joan was dead!

But he forgot all about Joan's evil deeds. All he remembered was that she had cuckolded him. At this point, as he mentioned Max, Eloise knew that men always had a hard time swallowing the fact that their women had been with other men. He was doubting whether she had slept with with Max.

Eloise didn't explain, nor did she want to. She was very tired. The baby in her belly was almost five months old, at its most active stage. Even if she wanted to win Harvey back, she had to ensure the safe birth of the baby.

Eloise spoke calmly, "Harvey, I won't agree to a separation!"

Agreeing to separate would mean allowing him to fool around. She wasn't that naive.

Upon hearing this, Harvey raised an eyebrow, and he had a small smile on his face!

Eloise looked down. “You must be thinking that you can do whatever you want since your feet are on your legs, and there's nothing I can do about it! Yes, I really can't do anything about it, but Harvey, you not coming home and me agreeing to it are two different things!"

After saying this, she walked out of the bathroom. As they passed each other, Harvey suddenly lightly held her shoulder. Somehow, he sensed her silent sadness.

Eloise's nose turned slightly red. "I'm very tired. I want to rest."

Harvey leaned in close to her, whispering, "Is this how you seduced me in the past? With that irresistible charm of yours? How else would I get caught up in making babies with you repeatedly?"

Such a jerk!

Eloise's eyes were slightly teary. She gently pushed him away and slowly made her way to the bed, lying down next to their daughter, Linda.

Eventually, Harvey also laid down. Eloise had her back turned to him, but he knew she wasn't asleep. Every now and then, the quiet darkness was pierced by her soft intake of breath. She seemed to be crying!

Harvey quietly closed his eyes. He had lost five years of his life to amnesia. When he woke up, he suddenly had a wife who was Max's ex, that good-for-nothing guy! His sister had also been messing around with Eloise's uncle. Harvey found it hard to feel anything for Eloise.

But he did find her attractive. Even with her pregnancy, she had a slim waist, long straight legs.

In the dark, Harvey suddenly found himself restless.
