Celestial Queen: Revenge Is Sweet When You’re A Zillionaire Heiress

Chapter 1737

Chapter 1737:

Rhys let out a chuckle, stopping his massage of Harlee’s neck. His tone was playful.

“I’ll be heading to Winbrough for some business. Enjoy yourself.”

Harlee sensed an underlying intention in his words. She arched an eyebrow and asked, “Are you planning to stick to me like glue?”

Rhys, caught in his little scheme, momentarily halted his tea sipping and met her gaze with an awkward look. He shrugged, a hint of resignation in his smile.

“It seems I can’t keep anything from you. Yes, I’m here for you, but I also have business to attend to.”

“Fine, you may follow me.”

Having noticed Rhys looking tired by midday, Harlee felt a surge of empathy and probably wouldn’t decline if he suggested spending intense nights together.

Right after Harlee agreed, her phone rang. The caller ID displayed the name of Virginia’s roommate, Harlee’s paid informant.

Harlee eyed Rhys and activated the speakerphone.

“Ms. Sanderson, did Virginia actually assault Hazel and Zora?” A voice tinged with concern and anxiety came through the phone.

“Why? The entire school knows?” Harlee asked, her voice lazy.

Her informant said nervously, “Yes, it’s all over, and the stories are escalating. Hazel’s admirer, from the wealthy Sampson family, has vowed to retaliate against Virginia and her brother.”

“I’ll send you a million to protect Virginia and Ulises for ten minutes each. I’ll be there in half an hour.”

Harlee then ended the call.

Rhys asked, “How about dinner together tonight?”noveldrama

“Sure.”

As she spoke, Harlee pecked Rhys on the cheek, grabbed her coat from the single sofa, and hurried out.

Rhys, feeling where Harlee had kissed him, wore a slight smile. Moments later, he picked up his phone and made a call, his face instantly becoming grave.

At Winbrough University, upon Harlee’s arrival, Hazel, Zora, and Hazel’s suitor, Michael Sampson, were gathered on the sports field. Virginia and Ulises were encircled, with the informant, Oakley Ferguson, frantically defending them.

“Ms. Sanderson, thank goodness you’re finally here! I was nearly beaten to a pulp!” Oakley exclaimed.

As Harlee stepped onto the field, Oakley’s loud cries caught everyone’s attention. Their gazes shifted to her, and they were instantly captivated by her stunning appearance. She was breathtakingly beautiful.

The crowd parted instinctively as Harlee made her way to the center of the gathering.

Harlee looked up and said softly to Hazel, “Picking a fight with Virginia, are you? That’s quite daring of you.”

As soon as Virginia and Ulises laid eyes on Harlee, the tension in their hearts melted away, replaced by a profound sense of calm. Virginia knew well what Harlee was capable of, and Ulises had adored her since his youth, viewing her as nothing short of a heroine.

Hazel shuddered under Harlee’s gaze, but then began to yell in a thin, fragile voice, “Ms. Sanderson, what have I done to deserve this? Why are you targeting me repeatedly? Virginia is standing here without a scratch, while I was beaten so severely that I nearly became disfigured. Is that really what you call us starting a fight with Virginia?”

“Do you want to disfigure your face?” Harlee asked abruptly.

Hazel felt a chill run down her spine. Harlee’s presence was intimidating. Hazel feared that confirming Harlee’s question might lead to actual disfigurement, so she didn’t dare to respond or even meet Harlee’s eyes.

Harlee slipped her hands into her pockets, her demeanor a blend of casual indifference and bold arrogance.
