The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 870

Matthew knew right away that Lorraine was about to ask for the time, so he just placed his phone in front of her. "Take a look at it yourself."

Lorraine glanced at the time and scarfed down the egg before getting up. "Your phone is showing the wrong time, Dad. It's probably broken. Can you take me to kindergarten now? I want to get the punctuality sticker, so I have to be on time for school this entire month."

Matthew couldn't help himself and explained with a smile, "The sun comes up early around 6:00 am during the summer, Lori. It'll be over the trees by 7:00 am. But in winter, it'll still be dark at 7:00 am. So, you can't rely on the sun to tell the time."

Lorraine put her hands on her head and whined. "The sun is so annoying. Why doesn't it come out at the same time? Doesn't it care about being late and getting scolded?"

Lorraine's comment had everyone laughing. Matthew couldn't help but beam at how innocent she said it.noveldrama

After getting out of prison, Matthew treasured every moment with Lorraine. Just looking at her made him feel happy. Her childlike innocence had him grinning from ear to ear.

Beside them, Lillian shook her head and turned to Matthew, remarking, "Stop

laughing at her. When you were little, you asked me if the sun sweats because it's so hot. You even talked about how the sun doesn't have hands to wipe its sweat."

Matthew looked a little embarrassed. "What? Did I actually ask such a silly question?" he thought.

After breakfast, Matthew sent Lorraine to the kindergarten. On his way back home, his phone started ringing.

Matthew pulled the car over to the side and picked up his phone. He noticed it was an unfamiliar number and tapped the answer button. "Hello? Who's this?"

A sweet voice came through the phone. "I'm the lady who scraped your car yesterday. Do you remember me?"

Matthew had plans beyond remembering her. He was about to get started on finding the whereabouts of the Octolith, but he changed his mind just for her.

He cleared his throat and pretended like she just came to his mind. "Oh, right. I remember now. It's you."

Siren sweetly responded, "Nice, you remember me. I honestly thought you'd forget about me. I barely got any sleep after going back home last night. You've got such a nice car, and scratched it. I'm paying you for it, no matter what. Where are you? I'll come to you right now."

Yesterday, Matthew felt like Siren sounded sincere, giving him the impression she had strong morals and the right outlook in life. But now, it was a whole different story. Every single bit of it was just an act.

Matthew acted Hike he was thinking for a moment, and the call stayed silent for a while. Then, he finally replied, "don't have much going on today so I'm just at home. Do you want to come over, or do youwant to meet somewhere else?"

Siren giggled and responded, "Let's find a spot treat you to a meal as an apology. Honestly, you're such a nice person. If it were another guy who didn't respect women, he would've slapped me right there. I can't thank you enough. Let me buy you a meal to show my S appreciation."

Matthew played along. "Alright. Name me the place, and I'll be right there."

Smiling, Siren replied, "I know a place with great food and a nice atmosphere. I'll send you the location. See you there."

After hanging up, Siren sent Matthew the address.

At the foot of Walling Mountain in the southern suburbs of Lambda City, there was

a private accommodation called Cavern Hideaway.

All the guest houses were cave homes with unique heated seats inside. Each one had a small yard.

Siren stood in the yard, and she really loved the spot she picked. With the door shut, no one could disturb her. It was the perfect place to deal with Matthew. Everything was in place. All she needed to do was to wait for Matthew to show up.
