"A misunderstanding, you say?" Gideon repeated with a look of amusement.

Tom nodded fervently. “That' right. It really was just a misunderstanding. I have an important meeting at my company, so if there's nothing else, I'll get going now."noveldrama

"Hold it."

Two words were enough to make Tom pause in his tracks. He even started shaking.

"Do you take me for a fool?" Gideon questioned with a snort. "You think you can leave just like that after humiliating my wife?"

Chuckling awkwardly, Tom took out a debit card and said, "Yes, of course. I should make it up to you. There's 100 thousand dollars in this bank account, Mr. Snow. Please consider it a token of my apology to Ella. That should be enough, right?"

"You think I need 100 thousand dollars?"

"Well..." Tom was furious, but he dared not let it show. He was worried that Gideon would fly off the handle and cripple him, too. That would truly be the worst-case scenario.

"What do you want, then, Mr. Snow?"

"It's simple. I believe in giving people a taste of their own medicine. You wanted my wife to perform a striptease, so you can do one, too. But hang on. That's not all. You need to run back to your office naked before I consider us even."

Before Tom could protest, Gideon snapped, "Nino! I'll leave you in charge of keeping an eye on him. If you don't do a good job of it, I'll come knocking on your door again."

Gideon shot Nino a look that made him tense up in fear. He instinctively went along with it. Lowering his head, he responded stammeringly, "Rest assured, Mr. Snow. I'll do a good job."

By the time he raised his head again, Gideon was nowhere to be seen.

Tom immediately exploded in anger. "You bastard! I'm going to make sure you die a horrible death and feed your body to the dogs, Gideon!"

Nino eyed Tom with mixed emotions.

Tom's eyes widened with disbelief. "What's with that expression on your face, Mr. Duran? Don't tell me you're actually going to do as Gideon said and make me run back to my office naked! Hahaha! What a joke!"

"Boss!"

Just then, one of Nino's lackeys came running over in a panic. He reported, "Boss, we noticed that a large group of Leopold Sullivan's men surrounded the club!"

"What?" Nino was shocked.

He and Leopold were mortal rivals. If Leopold had surrounded the club with his men, it could only spell one thing

danger.

However, the lackey added, "There's nothing to worry about anymore, boss! Leopold's men have left."

Nino was confused. He kicked the man and asked, "What the hell is going on? Explain it properly!"

"Earlier on, a young man left the club, and Leopold went up to him, treating him with the utmost respect. He even

kept his head down most of the time. The young man got into Leopold's car, and once they left, everyone backed off, too.'

A young man?

Could it be...

"I took a photo, boss. This is the man," the lackey said while passing his phone

over.

After glancing at the screen, Nino felt his heart shudder. It was Gideon, alright! That explained why Gideon dared to do whatever he wanted, leaving no room for anyone to question him.

Being Leopold's rival, he knew full well just how arrogant Leopold was. Gideon had to possess some kind of terrifying power to make Leopold act subservient to

him.

"Let me see who's the fellow that even Leopold would treat with such respect,"

Tom said as he stuck his head over. Alas, when he saw the photo, his expression hardened

It was Gideon!

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to offend you," Nino said.

"What do you mean by that, Mr. Duran?"

Sensing that something bad was about to happen, Tom tried to flee, but a group of men blocked the exit.

"Watch it, Mr. Duran! Don't do anything foolish!"

"I don't want to do this, either," Nino said. "But you saw it just now. Gideon's no pushover. If I don't do as he said, I'll also be in big trouble."
