Tangled Temptations

Max was drunk as a skunk, staggering his way out.

He happened to pass by a private room, the door slightly ajar, affording him a glimpse inside.

A woman was curled up in the arms of a rich dude, meekly letting the man kiss her, the man's kissing technique turning the girl into a quivering mess.

But Max was hammered, his judgment blurred. He mistook the woman for Eloise.

He was instantly seething with rage.

Eloise was locking lips with another man, probably about to get intimate. Max, fueled by liquid courage, kicked open the door of the private room, evoking a screech.

Max grabbed the man by the collar and threw a punch.

"Who gave you the right to hold Eloise?! Eloise was mine. She's my wife!"

The man was knocked for six. Getting pissed off, he kicked back at Max, "What's your bloody problem! Do you really think your wife would be in a place like this? Are you that useless, letting your wife earn a living for you?"

Max was completely ticked off, grabbed the man, and started beating the crap out of him.

The woman scared out of her wits, started bawling and screaming.

The manager rushed over upon hearing the commotion, only to be gobsmacked!

He had just spent ages trying to reason with Max, only to find the situation had escalated!

The manager tried to break up the fight but ended up getting punched, too.

Eventually, security had to be called to restrain a manic Max. The man in the private room wiped the blood from his lip, coldly saying, "You're going to pay for this!"

Max gave a cold laugh.

"Bring it on! Let's see who's going to pay!"

The two resumed their fisticuffs, both ending up bloodied. The manager held his face in despair.

Screw it! Let them fight it out until they're out of steam, then he'd intervene.

The man in the private room had never been treated like this!

He had no intention of making amends.

With a smirk, he glared at Max, "Get ready for jail! Don't you feel embarrassed acting like this over a club girl!"

No matter how much the manager tried to mediate, the man in the private room went ahead and called the cops.

Late at night.

Max was sitting on a bench at the police station, and the cops there recognized him.

Wasn't this the son-in-law of the Horigan family?

The last time Max ended up in the police station was for the same reason, fighting over a woman. It seemed his fiancée couldn't keep him in line. As long as he had a pulse, he'd be out chasing women.

The officer was relatively polite, offering a cigarette.

"Mr. Velona, is this your second time here?"

After lighting up, Max's mind cleared a bit, and he looked at the man next to him.

He felt disgusted! How did he end up fighting with this type of man?

The officer sat across from him, seriously saying, "Mr. Velona, they were just peacefully interacting. Why did you have to start a fight? Are you purposely causing trouble for us? If we had a few more like you, we wouldn't have to deal with regular work!"

They were familiar, so the process was simple.

The officer kindly asked, "Are you calling Attorney to bail you out again?"

Max wasn't planning on having Harvey bail him out. He was about to refuse, but then he remembered Harvey was probably sleeping with Eloise right now. waking Harvey up would definitely tick him off!

Max took a drag. "Fine!"

The officer chuckled, shaking his head, "Mr. Velona, I don't mean to criticize, but as the future son-in-law of the Horigan family, you should care more about your image. Not every misstep can be forgiven."

Care about his image!?

Max was momentarily lost.

Hadn't he always been after power? Why was he losing his mind recently, even considering giving up everything for Eloise?

But at this moment, his inebriated state had shattered his judgment.

Taking a deep drag, he said, "Make the call!"

The man who had fought with Max finally figured out his identity. After putting two and two together, he couldn't help but curse, "Oh my God! Are you nuts? You have a beautiful fiancée, and instead of being with her, you're here causing a scene. What the hell is wrong with you!"

Max looked dazed.

What had triggered him, he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
