Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Anya pointed outside, "Uncle's at it again, giving Chad a hard time. Both babies are in Uncle and Chad's arms, and I'm too chicken to step in."

The two women exchanged knowing glances and snuck a peek into the yard from behind the wall.

"Hey, Aunt, Auntie, are you going to rescue my Chad?" Anya asked, her

innocence shining through.

Molly shot back, "You're his girlfriend and you're not lifting a finger-why should we, who are basically strangers, step in?"noveldrama

"But you guys are friends," Anya pointed out.

Mia and Molly exchanged a look, "Oh right, it's been so long, we almost forgot we're actually pals."

Anya whispered with a grin, "Aunts, remember, we're family too!"

The two women paused, speechless.

Before long, the uncle and nephew duo came back inside.

Henry quickly became the star of the show, covering his chubby cheeks with his hands, clearly annoyed, "Only Mommy gets smooches, no one else!"

The room erupted in laughter, realizing Henry only let his mom kiss him.

When Henry was a handful, the little dragon was there to add to the chaos. A group of adults managed to make the sleeping little dragon cry, his tiny face turning beet red, until Henry dashed over protectively to his brother. Even when Grandpa Hansen tried to sneak a kiss on his grandson, Henry reached out his little hand, "No pinching, baby's upset."

Translator Mia chimed in, "The baby's upset, not 'baby's upset."

Despite Molly's occasionally scatterbrained parenting style, no one could replace her. The crying little dragon, eyes glued to his mom, waited for her to scoop him up.

As soon as Molly approached, he lifted his arms.

"Moms aren't perfect, but she's the only one I've got," Molly said, gathering her son and soothing him with gentle pats and lullabies.

Coleen joked, "Wayne and his dad no matter how ticked off they get, they never lose it with Molly. No matter how annoying she is, they keep their cool. Just hearing her voice, and they're like magnets, never straying more than three feet away."

Everyone's eyes darted to the teased father and son, who indeed, were glued to Molly. The little dragon cried, watching his mom intently, refusing to let her hand him off. Officer Chad, feeling the stares, chuckled wryly, "Sometimes, I do get mad." But before he could even stay mad, Jade's presence washed it all away. As the afternoon wore on, folks chatted a bit before gradually heading out. Hansen was eager to nudge someone into marriage, but when Conner held Annie's hand, he said, "Hansen, just you wait-next year, you'll be my best man."

Then Asher pointed to a scar on his face, "Hansen, I'm a mess now, can't find a bride."

When it came to Mars, he limped over, holding his backside, "Hansen, think of us disabled folk."

Hansen's eyes widened, "Mars, what happened to your backside this time?"

Mars replied, "Your son just gave it a good kick."

And with that, he limped away.

Henry, ever curious, followed Mars outside, watching as his godfather's limping gait became more and more comical.
