Chapter 1256
Then she kept asking her dad for matches talk about persistence.

Wayne had been crying, but once his mom scooped him up, he calmed down. It was dinner time, and he fell asleep right after his feed.
Conner glanced over, his eyes practically shouting one word: envy.
Then he looked at his godson, who had a knack for dozing off when he shouldn't and waking up just in time for meals. And when it was bedtime? Forget it. He'd stay up, leaving everyone worn out.
Leaning over to Annie, Conner whispered, "Annie, if we could have a little guy like that, I'd be happy."
Annie replied, "Having a kid is like rolling the dice. If you're lucky, you get an angel. If not, well..." Her eyes drifted to their godson.
Andre was trying to get his son to settle, "Henry, sit nicely. Whatever you want to eat, I'll get it for you."
But Henry had his own plans. He wriggled out of his high chair, determined to sit like a grown-up and use his fork. His little face turned bright red as he insisted, "No! Daddy, no."
Mia quickly got someone to bring a stool over, but when Henry sat down, he couldn't even see the table. So, he ended up being the only one standing to eat.
Conner turned and said, "You know, I really think kids' behavior has a lot to do with genetics."
Annie nodded, "So, are you the hyper type or the calm type?"
Conner felt a sudden pang, "Annie, maybe we should put off the whole kid thing. Andre's been a dad for a while, and his heart's not as strong. I'd like to stick around a bit longer."
Annie smiled, "That's exactly why I think we should have kids. So you stick around longer."
Around the dinner table, everyone was chatting away, finding people they clicked with, sharing jokes from their work, and funny life stories. It was lively, cheerful, and just plain fun.
Henry was happy too. The grown-ups were busy talking, leaving him to his own devices.
Struggling with his fork, he switched to using his hands. The cold dishes were doable until he suddenly held up his little hand and started crying. "Daddy, help! boohoo."
Andre turned around and quickly took his son's little hand to rinse under cool water.
While everyone else was worried, Mia casually said, "This is just a regular day for us. At this age, you never know what kind of trouble they'll get into in a blink. Let's just keep eating."
Since the food was served at a safe temperature, Mia wasn't worried about any burns.
Before long, Henry was back in his dad's arms, opening his little mouth for whatever his parents fed him.
See, even the cheekiest kids need a bit of wrangling.
After dinner, Leo had his two little sweeties perched on his shoulders, strolling through the Maplewood Estates courtyard. One doll was placed on the table, and the other was cuddled in his arms.noveldrama
Leo was checking out the wrists and ankles of the two siblings, who had no clue what their big brother was up to. They looked a bit puzzled as their little hands and feet were tugged.
Soon enough, Leo pulled out some custom-made bracelets and gently slipped one around the ankle of the little champ, then put another "bracelet" on Henry's tiny wrist, "Now, if either of you gets snatched, your brother can find you in a heartbeat."
A new bracelet adorned Henry's chubby wrist.
Andre watched from the window for a while before finally stepping outside to ask his nephew, "What did you give them?"
What do you think?
