Chapter 1220
Andre glanced around, noting the lack of any security cameras. Mia was pacing anxiously, recalling the scene in the car when she was harassed, and her little boy, with his tiny feet, kicked back in defiance.
"Honey, hit me," she urged.
Andre hesitated, "..."
"Come on, just hit me," Mia insisted, desperation in her voice.
Andre gently felt her forehead, checking for a fever—nothing out of the ordinary.
Pulling her husband into the yard, Mia cleared a space. "Seriously, hit me. It'll make our son appear."
Andre, conflicted, confessed, "I can't do it."
Mia raised her voice, "Is anyone brave enough to hit me?"
Everyone averted their eyes, not daring to touch her; even if the boss wouldn't hit her, they certainly weren't going to risk it.
"If you don't hit me, I'll ask for a divorce," Mia threatened.
In the next moment, Andre wrapped his arms around her, gently lowering her to the ground in a way that made it look like she'd been hit.
Mia sat on the ground, crying out, "Help, honey, you hit me!"
Andre sighed; he hadn't used any force, just gently laid his petite wife down.noveldrama
From a tiny gap in the wall and fence, Henry, mustering all his courage, climbed over the "barrier" and dashed out, his little voice shouting, "Daddy's being mean!"
He rushed over, delivering a small kick to his dad's leg and tapping his knee with his tiny hands. With his cheek swollen, he glared up at his dad as if to say, "How dare you hit Mommy?"
Seeing her son, Mia scooped him up. "Henry, my baby, I finally found you."
Henry sweetly wrapped his arms around her neck.
Andre, spotting his son's swollen cheek, felt a pang of guilt.
He took his son's hand, pulling him into a hug, and kissed his cheek softly. "I'm
sorry, buddy. I should have protected you."
Henry tilted his head, hugging his dad's neck, pouting playfully, "Daddy?"
"Does it hurt?" Andre asked gently.
"Yeah," Henry mumbled.
Andre held him close, cherishing his little boy.
Mars, seeing his godson's state, looked at the subdued attackers on the ground. "Who did this?"
One attacker, defiant, spat out, "It was me, so what?"
Mars, furious, delivered a swift kick, knocking the man out. "That's

After venting with another kick, Mia clarified, "It wasn't him. The one who hit my son was already dealt with by my husband..."
Mars glanced at the man he nearly kicked to death for lying. "Serves him right for trying to deceive me."
Henry, cradled in his dad's arms, was quickly given an ice pack for his cheek.
Mars inspected the hiding spot. "My little hero, how did you squeeze in there?"
Adults often search in obvious places like bushes or trash cans, forgetting that kids think differently and can slip through the tiniest gaps. Only a child could fit in such a small space.
Henry, small and nimble, had squeezed in next to the air
conditioning unit, hiding behind it. The bulky machine perfectly
concealed him, making him invisible to those who didn't think to look there.
What do you think?
