Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1207

Half an hour later, Chad rolled in, despite it being the middle of the night.

Easton asked, "Does Molly know you're sneaking out like this?"

"Nah, she's out cold with the kid. I could cause a ruckus and they wouldn't stir. Anyway, fill me in on what's going on with this guy."

Chad settled in with his crew, soaking up the details from his friend before stepping into the interrogation room.

"Well, well, a fresh face," the suspect sneered, eyeing Chad with a smirk. Noticing Chad's badge, he added, "Must be a big shot, leaving the office to deal with little ol' me. I must be special."

Chad took a seat and pointed to the untouched coffee, "A sip might help you keep your cool. Don't want you losing it later."

The suspect was intrigued but defiant. The more Chad pushed, the less he wanted to drink, his mind racing over what might make him snap.

Chad glanced at him, then flipped through the file, "I've read your file. Remember Mr. Hady, the officer who grilled you last time?"

The suspect, playing it safe, shrugged off any memory, acting clueless. "Nope, doesn't ring a bell."

Chad stroked his chin thoughtfully, "Well, Mr. Hady remembers you. Heck, our whole class does. You were quite the topic when he was guest lecturing. Never thought I'd meet you in the flesh."

"What the hell? Did Mr. Hady really spill my story?" The suspect felt his pride taking a hit.

Chad stayed steady, "Told you, coffee helps with the temper. You're getting riled up."

He pretended to consult his notes, "Name: Seamus. Six years back, you got four years for attempted assault and causing serious injuries in a fight. Demember like it was

yesterday. If you doubt wasn

classmates. Your mugshot was our target practice back then?" noveldrama

"That damn Mr. Hady," the suspect fumed, trying to leap up and reach Chad. "Easy now, watch your step."

The suspect's anger was boiling over, feeling like a bug under a microscope, stripped of dignity, and he couldn't stand it.

Behind the glass, a bunch of officers watched the scene unfold. Easton asked, "Who's this Mr. Hady? Did he really say those things?"

Annie chimed in, "Nah, there was never any guest lecturer. Chad's just pushing his buttons."

Easton caught on, "Ah, now it makes sense. He was going through those old files, huh? Wait a minute, Annie, how come you know about Chad's class?"

Annie hesitated, "Uh... we're alumni."

The coroner, peeking in, murmured with a shake of the head, "Poor Molly, stuck with Chad. My heart goes out to her."

Chad, still holding the file, tossed out

more made-up stories to rile the

suspect further, "So you hurt

veline

someone badly just because they turned you down?"

The suspect erupted, "That's rubbish! All he had to do was let his girlfriend join us for a drink. It was all in good fun. He had it coming for saying no, right?"

Chad eyed him with disdain, "So, when you got caught, you didn't waste time

ratting out your buddies for a lighter sentence, huh?"
