Chapter 212 Don't Think You Can Use the Same Trick Again
I suppressed the victorious smile tugging at my lips and stared coldly at Jeremiah. "How did you get in here? What about the security guards? Who let you in?"noveldrama
With that, I turned my gaze to Elsa and sneered, "Was it you? Just because Jack gives you permission doesn't mean you can bring anyone in here like it's your personal playground."
Elsa didn't even work for Brown Group, so logically, she shouldn't have any access to the company.
But Jack always catered to Elsa, and after much persistence on her part, he managed to get the tech department to grant her access.
Elsa took a step back, her face full of feigned innocence as she hid behind Jeremiah.
Seeing this, Jeremiah immediately looked concerned and stepped in to protect her. He frowned and snapped, "Shut up!"
He glared at me disdainfully. "Why can't you be more like Elsa? Will it kill you to be a little gentler?"
I met his gaze with indifference. "Why would I want to be like her? If you like clones so much, why not just pay to clone yourself? With your narcissistic personality, this suggestion is the best one I can give."
Jeremiah immediately looked furious. He was about to insult me but then suddenly laughed. "I get it now. This is all just one of your little tricks to get my attention."
In my scornful gaze, he continued with his analysis. He was clearly proud of himself.
"If you're not trying to grab my attention, then why did you like my Instagram post? You clearly still haven't moved on from me!"
I was stunned by his shamelessness. After a long pause, I finally snapped out of
it.
I said with a smirk, "Did you hit your head or something? Maybe the door
slammed into your head, and you just can't remember it. Or did Eric hitting you last time give you some kind of brain damage? You do realize that accidental likes happen, right?"
Although I had liked his post on purpose, I showed no guilt at all. Instead, I remained completely confident.
Jeremiah's face stiffened for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure. He scoffed. "Are you trying to play games with me? You dare try to mess with me?"
I sat back in my chair, calmly watching him lose his temper. With a smirk, I said, "You're just being too sensitive."
My nonchalance only made Jeremiah angrier.
Seeing the situation, Elsa quickly grabbed his arm. But she wasn't trying to calm him down-she was just fueling the tension between Jeremiah and me.
"Jeremiah, Jane already has Mr. Flint now. Flint Group is at the top of the industry. Maybe you should just..."
Before she could finish, Jeremiah's expression twisted in rage. He pointed at me furiously.
"So, that's it? Do you think I'm not as good as Eric? You're shamelessly opportunistic. The Cornell family gave you plenty, and yet you turned around and ran straight to the Flint family."
I let out a cold laugh. "The Cornell family gave me plenty? You really love flattering yourself. Instead of wasting your time arguing with me, maybe you should focus on making money for once."
Jeremiah scoffed, lifting his chin arrogantly. "Let me tell you something. The Cornell family is about to rise to an entirely new level. You'll regret everything you've done."
I raised a brow and said with indifference, "You're not talking about the recent government bidding project, are you?"
His expression shifted in an instant, and just as he opened his mouth to speak, I cut him off. I met his gaze, my voice dripping with mockery as I said, "The official you bribed has already been removed, hasn't he? What now? You think you can pull the same trick twice?"
Jeremiah sucked in a sharp breath. Connecting the dots, his expression darkened
with a mix of shock and fury.
He shouted angrily, "It was you!"
What do you think?
