Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 909

Jules burst out with excitement, "Oh, this is just amazing! Lincoln, you must have someone watching over you."

But then Lincoln's face darkened as if he'd remembered something.

"Well, let's just hope you don't mess up this good fortune of mine."

Jules looked confused. "Me?"

Lincoln nodded, tears glistening in his eyes. "I've been paralyzed for twenty years, and when I woke up, everything was gone-my home, my parents. Thankfully, Flora gave me a daughter who doesn't hold it against me for not being there as a father. She's always been so kind and never asked me for anything. But for the first time, she got up the nerve to meet you because of all the good things I've said about you. And what did you do? You were so cold and dismissive, it broke her heart."

"Jules, you made my daughter upset."

Jules suddenly realized, "Your daughter? Was she Ashley, the one who visited me yesterday?"

Lincoln let out a discontented sigh. "Hmph."

Feeling guilty, Jules said, "Lincoln, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to brush off your niece. I didn't know she was your daughter. If I had, I would've treated her like family."

Lincoln shot him a sidelong glance. "Why would you be dismissive? Even if you didn't know she was my daughter, she's so gentle and kind. You shouldn't have been so indifferent."

"Jules, what's happened to you? You've become so hard to approach."

Jules blushed. "Lincoln, I'll be straight with you. I wasn't targeting your niece. It was the guy she was with. He seemed way too slick for his age, and from what I've heard, his character's pretty questionable. Since she was with him, I treated them both the same."

"How could you let your niece hang out with someone like that?"

Lincoln bowed his head, deep in thought for a while.

"Jules, you don't know how good that young man really is."

Jules was taken aback. "Have you gone mad lying in bed for so long? The guy's been in jail; how good could he be?"

Lincoln looked up, tears welling in his eyes. "Jules, don't badmouth him in front of me. I can't stand it."

Jules hesitated. "Okay, if you don't want to hear it, I'll hold my tongue."

Lincoln collected himself, his voice thick with emotion as he explained, "I used to have the wrong idea about him Just like you. I even wanted to kick him out of my house."

Jules was surprised. "So, what changed your mind about him?"

Lincoln replied, "Because he gave up so much to pull my daughter, Vivian, out of despair. Now, he's terminally ill, but he's still planning for her happiness."

Jules was dumbfounded. How could someone known for being so bad be so selfless? It challenged everything he believed.

Lincoln continued, "Jules, his story is a long one. Let me tell it to you slowly..."

Jules poured him a glass of water and handed it over with care. "No rush, brother. We've got all the time in the world."

Lincoln took a sip and began sharing everything he knew about Morris with Jules From Morris's
