Chapter 99
The conference room was silent for a moment.noveldrama
Jason gave me a cold look. "Do you mean that you can do whatever you want in the company, and we can't say otherwise?"
There were whispers of agreement with Jason's words, but there were also some who were staring at us.
Jason had not only gone against me in the meeting, but he was also trying to make things difficult for me. His intentions were clear for all to see.
My face darkened. "So do you mean I can't even decide something so trivial? As the general manager, do I need your permission to carry out my decisions? Or do you mean you're more worthy of this position?"
I stared at him intensely. The incidents last time and this time revealed more of his true nature.
"Mr. Ranford, I never said that." Jason was a cunning man. I had called him out and yet, he was using such simple words to brush it off.
I looked at him calmly. "Since you're okay with it, then it's settled."
Jason wasn't satisfied, but the higher-ups on his side tugged at his sleeve. He stopped speaking.
News of this incident didn't spread, but after the higher-ups went back to their own departments, they started paying more attention to their own department members.
"This is indeed a good idea, but the management might not be pleased." Lindsey had joined this meeting as well.
However, what I had said was my own decision; I hadn't discussed it with her yet. It wasn't that I didn't want to, but her son had been sick for the past two days. She'd had to be with him in the hospital.
"An employee was driven to the edge and was ready to jump off the building. You spent all that time trying to talk him down on the rooftop, and not a single person had the guts to step up and take responsibility. And they have the nerve to complain?"
Lindsey smiled. "Right."
"How's your son?"
I wanted to visit her son in the hospital, but she refused.
"It's just a normal cold. You don't need to trouble yourself."
I nodded. "Take a few of the supplements I bought last time. Jason's not someone worth being close to."
Lindsey was surprised. "No, it's fine."
"It's not just for your son; you can use it as well. Thank you for the past few days. If you fall sick, who is going to help me?"
Lindsey didn't have a way to reject me, so she accepted the supplements with a smile.
Just then, Mira came into my office. "Mr. Ranford, Grace and Garment returned the goods!" She had just received news of this, and her face was etched with worry.
"What's wrong?"
Grace and Garment had approached us last year, looking for a
collaboration. Dad had had a few
idle factories at the time, and Grace
and Garment's previous suppliers had fun into issues and hadn't been able to deliver on time.
Originally, Dad intended to sell the factories to them outright. But they weren't
interested; they wanted to build a long-term partnership instead.
Coincidentally, Dad was also

considering expanding his business lines. After a lot of persistence on their end, he finally agreed. He renovated the factories according to their needs, brought in new production lines, and hired skilled workers at a premium rate, all to supply Grace and Garment.
Our factories had high standards.
We sourced only the best raw
materials from top-tier suppliers.
Over the past two years of working
together, we had delivered shipment after shipment for Grace and
Garment.
In fact, because our designs and quality consistently outperformed their competitors', Grace and Garment's business grew significantly.
What do you think?
