Chapter 100
I hadn't been in charge for long and had no intention of making changes to the company's supply chain, so our partnership with Grace and Garment naturally continued. I never expected they would be the ones to run into trouble first.
"The scheduled delivery date is in three days, right?" I looked over the documents Mira had just brought in, my brows furrowing tightly.
Mira nodded. "We usually deliver products to them ahead of schedule, and there's never been an issue before. But this time, they rejected the shipment. The person in charge is waiting outside. Would you like to see her?"
"Let her in."
The person in charge was a manager but not a senior-level employee. I hadn't seen her at the meeting this morning.
She was sharp and capable, and she had been with the company for many years. She also knew Lindsey.
When she walked in and saw Lindsey, they both exchanged smiles.
Then, she reported to me, "Mr. Ranford, I'm the manager of the products department, Yunice Holland. I've always been in charge of the cooperation with Grace and Garment.
"When the factory produced the goods two days ago, I went to check the quality and made sure everything was fine. Then, I went to Grace and Garment to drop off the shipment.
"But when I reached there, I noticed the manager was a different one. He asked to randomly check the products. After I agreed to meet them, they picked out one piece and claimed a loose thread was a defect.
"I tried to explain, but they wouldn't listen. They insisted our products had quality issues, returned the entire batch, and said I should prepare to pay a penalty for breach of contract. So, I reported it to you immediately."
After she finished speaking, I frowned. "Were the products quality-checked?"
"Yes, and it has always been done in advance. This is the quality check report."
I took a look. While I wasn't exactly an expert in this department, I could still read a quality check report when I saw one.
Yunice had also brought over a few finished pieces, along with the design templates that Grace and Garment had requested.
After comparing them carefully, I honestly couldn't find anything wrong.
"So you mean you delivered the products after they passed the quality check, but Grace and Garment still wanted a refund and also a penalty fee?"
Yunice nodded.
"Ask the legal department to contact them and place this batch in the warehouse for now."
I thought for a moment and asked Yunice to prepare the procedure. Then, I called Dad.
He had a strong impression of Grace and Garment. "The man in charge over there is actually a decent guy. We were just playing. chess together a few days ago Something like this really shouldn't be happening. I'll give him a call and ask."
Lindsey stood beside me and watched me. I gave her a nod to
speak. Ms. Holland just said the contact person on their end has
changed. Could the issue be coming
from there?"
I nodded. "This was, after all, a deal my dad negotiated. Let's wait for his response."
Lindsey remained silent. After a while, Dad called back.noveldrama
According to him, the other party wasn't even aware of the situation. He told me to send the goods over again and assured me they would accept the delivery this time.
"Have Yunice go back, but don't take the goods; we'll have them go to the warehouse and pick it up themselves."
We had already delivered it once. There was no reason for us to take the initiative a second time. If the
issu@was from their side, then they should handle it personally.
"Got it."
I thought that would be the end of it. But barely an hour had passed when things
suddenly escalated again.
"Mr. Ranford! Bad news! The entire batch of clothing has been burned!"
What do you think?
