No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 267

After Noelle left, Xenia recalled how she had been humiliated. Tears of frustration escaped her. That bitch! Xenia regretted not pushing her to her death! Now she was being blackmailed by Noelle.

Xenia couldn't let Noelle win. Just then, her phone rang. Lucas was calling. "Xenia, I'm at school now. I'd like to speak to you. Where are you?"

Xenia said through sobs, "Lucas, I'm on the balcony. Just now, Noelle asked me to meet her there, and she tried to kill me. I'm terrified!"

"I'm coming over now."

Xenia hung up and made herself look even scruffier in hopes that it would inspire Lucas' pity.

Noelle sashayed down the stairs. She arrived at the ground floor only to see Lucas sprinting over, looking extremely concerned. She raised an eyebrow. Xenia was quick in calling for help.

Upon seeing Noelle, Lucas halted in his tracks. Her icy expression was strange to him. She continued walking without sparing him a glance, as though they were complete strangers.

His heart sank to the pit of his stomach. Lucas couldn't help but turn around and shout, "Noelle!"

She did not turn around, as though she hadn't heard him.

Lucas wouldn't give up. He chased her and said, "Noelle, stop right there. Just now, Xenia called me to tell me that you asked her to meet on the balcony and tried to kill her!"

Noelle looked up. "Are you questioning me?"

Lucas realized that he'd taken a harsh tone with her. However, Noelle kept ignoring him and it made him feel horrible. It was a subconscious decision.

He lowered his voice and said, "I'm just asking. Why are you doing this? She's your sister."

"Xenia doesn't deserve to be my family. She deserves to be in jail!"

Lucas was taken aback. "You'll be imprisoned for inflicting bodily harm on her as well."noveldrama

"Do you have evidence to substantiate your accusations?"

"Why would I need evidence?"

"Oh, so you don't have evidence. In that case, why did you ask me for evidence? If Xenia hurt me, I needed to prove it with evidence. Yet, Xenia doesn't have to provide evidence when accusing me of harming her, right?"

"Noelle, that's not what I meant."

"What did you mean, then?"

Xenia watched as Lucas went from confident to feeling guilty. In the end, he fell silent.

Noelle said coldly, "Stop putting up a regretful front and trying to repair our relationship. I find it disgusting!"

In the face of Noelle's attacks, Lucas was decimated. He realized how he'd been taking sides!

Lucas watched her leave. He'd been impulsive. He wouldn't question Noelle like that again. Lucas turned around and headed to the balcony.

Xenia ran into his arms while wailing. "Lucas, I nearly died!" "What did Noelle say to you?"

"She thought that the accident had something to do with me and wanted to cause me grief. The accident was the doing of the Merlocks. It had nothing to do with me."

Xenia wouldn't admit that she'd been the main perpetrator behind it. She would frame the Merlocks so that no one thought to suspect her. They wouldn't find out about her biological father still being alive!

Lucas recalled what Noelle said. He was lost in thought.

"Lucas, you must avenge me. I nearly died."

He came to his senses and said, "You're fine, aren't you? Noelle only wanted to vent her frustrations. She wasn't actually trying to kill you. Let it go. She's a victim as well."

Upon hearing this, Xenia felt like she was about to vomit blood. What did he mean by asking her to let it go?
