His Reluctant Luna

I woke up lying on a hard floor. I heard water dripping from somewhere, the air smelled damp, and my head throbbed badly. I tried to get up, but the sharp pain made my head swim and I fell back on the floor. Surprisingly, I wasn't tied up. I looked around but couldn't see much of anything, so I mustered up the courage to slowly stand up. Chains jingled in my feet as I moved them. My short-lived

happiness of being untied died immediately, I was chained. My eyes had adjusted to the darkness, and I concluded I was in a cave.

'Lucian' I called into the mental link.

No response.

I was either too far away from him or he had closed the mental link, which was impossible. It meant I was too far away from him. I pulled at the chains, it didn't budge as expected. I wrapped my arms around myself. It was a trap. It was all a trap. Regina didn't die that day. Now, she had me and Clara. I heard approaching footsteps, and instinctively knew who they belonged to.

"Savannah," I said, glaring at her.

She smirked.

"Good morning, Madam Luna. How are you today?"

"Seeing that I am a prisoner, not excellent," I said sarcastically.

"You will be out of your discomfort soon," she replied, then added," madam Luna."

My wolf was on the surface, and I was seething in anger. I trusted her! How could I be so stupid?

"Where is Clara?" I asked.

"Safe, for now. She would remain so until you follow orders."

"And whose order are they?"

"Mine of course!" Another voice called out, and I flicked my head at the new arrival.

I immediately knew who she was. The elderly woman I had met on the state highway while escaping from Lucian after my first kidnapping. I couldn't speak for a few seconds, I was shocked, livid and confused. It didn't make any sense, and yet, it did.

"You......you are Regina ?...we have met," I stammered.

She smiled.

"Yes, unfortunately, you refused my offer for a tea, how rude! Had you accepted my offer? We could have saved so much trouble." She shrugged.

"How? What have you two been planning?" I asked, looking at both these women.

"Should we tell her?" Regina turned conspiratorially at Savannah.

"Be careful she has the mind link with my alpha," Savannah said.

I narrowed my eyes, "You love Lucian? Isn't it?"

Savanna seemed to colour a little.

"I am devoted to him. I need to ensure that he remains happy and is taken care of. You are the most unsuitable mate. You do not love him as I do. It should have been me." She said hotly.

I growled, brown hair covered my arms and hand as I struggled to keep Lana in check. I had to keep them talking. Lucian would eventually find me. I just needed to buy some time.

"And who are you to decide that? We are mates." I retorted.

"You didn't even want to stay with him, you tainted yourself with humans before meeting him. You wanted to break the mate bond. Now you claim to love him! You were never suitable for Lucian or the pack."

My anger rose with her every word.

"That's our issue. It's for Lucian to decide who he wants to be with, and he has chosen me. It's not your concern." I hissed.

"The Goddess has made a mistake, which I will rectify. It should have been me. I have been with Lucian since we were kids. I know everything about him, his likes, dislikes, his habits, I have been taking care of him for years. Unlike you, I didn't let anyone else touch me."

"Must have been pretty disappointing when he didn't imprint on you." I taunted.

I knew she was irked.

"Shut up! He is mine!" She screamed.

"So you want to be his mate? That's why you betrayed your Alpha, collaborated with this witch, attacked your pack, and almost got him killed. Wow! Must say it's true love." I said sarcastically.

Her brown eyes flashed in anger.

"I never wanted to do this. It's all your fault. I had always served him patiently, I knew he would acknowledge my love someday. Then you came along. Miss pretentious with mystic powers!" She snapped.

"I would have sacrificed my love for his happiness, but you were a whore! A lying, cheating whore! How can I let him stay with you? Lucian is blinded by mate bond.

I had no choice."

I was furious, but I had to keep calm. I needed them to spill out everything, save Clara before I made my move.

"How touching!" I said wryly. "So, how did you meet this witch?"

"Oh! I was always around, keeping an eye on the pack. I came upon Savannah accidentally while camping in the forest. She caught me during petrol. We had an agreement that she would help me get you because the rouges were useless and got distracted by trivial things. " Regina added.

"Did she tell you she almost killed Lucian?" I asked Savannah. It was hard to fathom the mad obsession of Savannah. Katherine had tried to warn me, but I was an idiot. It wasn't entirely my fault. Lucian also trusted her. He was betrayed again.

"That was an accident, I had no intentions to kill Lucian, but my subordinate witches and Adam didn't expect an attack, and they reacted. It could have made things difficult. But fortunately, you saved Lucian." Regina smirked.

"Wait! Did I save Lucian? How?" I was puzzled. I did nothing which could have saved Lucian.

"You look just like your mother," Regina smirked.

"Her power was healing. She could heal and bring back people from the verge of death. You are no witch, but your life energy can heal your mate, your children. It was you who saved Lucian. You make him more powerful. No wonder so many Alphas want you."

I looked at her in disbelief! So, that is why Adam wanted me.

"Unfortunately, I am already mated, I have Lucian's mark. How are these Alphas going to take me as their mate?" These people were lunatics!

"Easy, I'll just remove your mate bond. Create a bond with Savannah, he'll be loyal to her. Forgetting all about you."

I gasped a little at that and tried to evaluate my options. Spells don't work on wolves, and Regina was no witch. What was she planning?

"I might not be a true-born witch, like Rose, that ungrateful bitch! Threw away her gift for love. But I have learned on my own. I struggled alone and mastered the art of making spells. Soon, I started selling my potions and poisons for profit." She continued blabbering.

"And you sold those poisons to Beta Killian, who tried to kill Lucian with it, isn't it? " I smirked as Regina's face turned white.

"Savannah, are you aware of your partner's attempts? She tried to kill your Alpha." I said.

Savanna had already grabbed Regina by her throat and she was lifted in the air.

"You tried to kill my Alpha! Why didn't you tell me that was you." Savanna gritted her teeth.

"I just sold the poison, I had no idea who would use it and on whom." Regina stammered.

'That was easy!' I smirked.

I quickly looked around myself. There was only one exit, which was blocked by the quarrelling Regina and Savannah. I could scent, Clara faintly and there were other scents as well....several of them. There were more wolves, probably rouges, in the cave.

"We need to stick together if you want your Alpha," Regina was pleading with Savannah.

"Well, well, what's going on here?" Another voice, a male, approached us. As he got nearer, I got a good look at him. He looked middle-aged with dreadlocks. He was tall and broad, like most wolves. An alpha.

"What are you both fighting over?" He questioned then glanced at me. His eyes broadened in surprise.

"I had no idea that she would be so beautiful, not a bad deal after all." Henoveldrama

chuckled.

I bared my teeth at him. He pried apart Savannah and Regina.

"I didn't pay for this! We need to focus on the ceremony, so get your act together!"

He admonished.

"Ceremony?" I asked, fearing the worst.

He turned towards me and grinned. Oh! How I would love to snap that neck of his.

"Yes, my future mate. I have paid a heavy price for you. After they break your

mate bond, you will be mine!"

I stared at him horrified.
