Chapter 1609
Fiona finally managed to push her way through the throng, just as a folder went flying toward her head. The crowd was so dense that dodging was impossible, but the expected thud never landed. Instead, a tall figure stepped in, shielding her. Glancing up, Fiona was surprised to see it was Jackson.noveldrama
What on earth was he doing here?
The hospital director spotted Fiona in the crowd and hurried over, leaving her with no chance to exchange words with Jackson.
"Ms. Fiona, you're finally here," the director said, already tugging her away. Meanwhile, a distressed family member grabbed the director's arm, yelling, "Your hospital's killed someone, and now you're trying to run away? Think you can just deny it? No way!"
"It's not like that," the director tried to explain, but the family member cut him off, sneering, "Are you trying to tell us this young lady is your secret weapon?"
"You think we're just pushovers? Your hospital's all show! The doctors are irresponsible, and when things go wrong, they just want to wash their hands of it. I'm going to sue you!"
Fiona watched these people with a cool detachment, not bothering to argue, just observing like she was on the outside looking in.
With a wave from Jackson, a team of security guards cleared the way, even keeping the family at bay. The director and some senior doctors followed Fiona into the patient's room.

Inside, Fiona Saw the patient was in serious trouble. After checking the pulse and examining the case, shez found it all started as a minor stomach upset—something a simple IV should have fixed-but it had spiraled into a crisis.
"A simple stomach issue, and the nurse managed to botch the IV?" Fiona
remarked with a hint of sarcasm. "Didn't you tell the patient they needed to fast for a full day and night before the procedure?"
"Ms. Fiona, we did explain, but the family insisted on giving the patient chicken soup and bananas for digestion. By the time we knew, it was too late."
"Even if they didn't know better, you should have," Fiona shot back, rolling her eyes.
Now, because of the food and the surgery, the patient developed a perforated ulcer, and his vital signs were dropping fast, making recovery almost impossible.
On top of that, the patient was vomiting blood and having convulsions. Fiona used acupuncture, gradually calming him down, reducing the convulsions and the frequency of vomiting.
Just then, the family burst in, furious at the sight of needles in their son. "Is your hospital full of heartless people? My son's like this, and you're still sticking him with needles? Do you have any medical ethics at all?"
"I've called the police. You're all going to pay for this!" The woman, seeing the acupuncture needles Fiona's hand, charged at her. Thankfully, Jackson stepped in just in time, blocking her path. "Are you the one sticking needles in my son?" she shouted, pointing at Fiona.
What do you think?
