Chapter 2364
Chapter 2364
Strolling down the bustling main street of the town, Estelle and her friend found themselves amidst a crowd, stopping every now and then to marvel at the array of novelties lining the shops.
They hadn't quite made it to the end of the street when Estelle's phone buzzed - it was Magdalen on the line. "Ella, where are you? Hurry over here, I need backup!"Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Estelle frowned, "What happened?"
"I'm at the shooting range, and someone's been giving me a hard time!" Magdalen sounded furious. "Her boyfriend's a pro shooter, cocky as hell. I need to show them there's always a bigger fish!"
Estelle couldn't help but chuckle, "A bigger fish, huh?"
"Stop it with the fish! Just get over here. I've already talked big, and now I need to back it up!"
"Alright, send me your location!" Estelle replied, knowing full well she'd never find Magdalen in the sprawling town without it.
"Done!" Magdalen hung up.
Turning to Jonathan, Estelle said, "Let's go back Magdalen up!"
"What's going on?" Jonathan asked.
"She's in trouble at the shooting range." After getting the location from Magdalen, Estelle grabbed Jonathan's hand, and they quickly made their way to the range.
Upon arrival, Magdalen, who had been on the lookout, spotted them first and hurried over from under a sun umbrella. "Let's show them what we're made of!"
"Where are they?" Estelle inquired.
"That couple shooting over there!" Magdalen pointed.
Morrison Langston, sitting nearby, handed Jonathan a bottle of water with a wry smile. "The competitive spirit in women... It could turn a mountain into a magic beanstalk!"
Jonathan laughed silently, taking a seat.
"Are you not going to help?" Morrison asked.
Jonathan remained calm, "Ella can handle it."
At the shooting line, a couple was taking turns. The guy was
impressively accurate, hitting the bull's-eye at twenty meters with two shots. Prizes were awarded for hitting targets at different distances, and the girl was already clutching a giant teddy bear, cheering on her boyfriend.
Noticing Magdalen approaching, the girl called out provocatively, "Are you still up for the challenge, or what? Has your backup arrived?" Magdalen, with Estelle in tow, quickly closed the distance, her presence commanding. "Why the rush? Scared of getting shown up?"
The girl scoffed, about to retort when she caught sight of Estelle and paused, her face lighting up with surprise and delight. "It's you!" Estelle, taken aback, smiled.
The girl excitedly tugged at her boyfriend's arm. "Look who's here!"
Brian turned around, his excitement matching hers. "Wow, didn't expect to run into you here."
"It's quite the coincidence," Estelle replied with a light laugh.
Magdalen looked on, bewildered. "You know each other?"
The girl sheepishly explained, "We teamed up for an online FPS game once. Estelle and her boyfriende totally outplayed us. They're really good."
Magdalen was at a loss for words. "What are the odds?"
Here they were, from J City, running into each other in C City.
Her fists were ready to fly, but it seemed the battle was over before it even began. Should she feel relieved or disappointed?
The girl offered her prize to Magdalen. "No need for a contest, this is for you!"
Magdalen declined, "Being acknowledged is enough. You keep it."
With a playful stick of her tongue, the girl admitted, "I guess there's no arguing with Estelle around."
Brian then suggested to Estelle, "Why don't you take a couple of shots for fun?"
"Sure!" Estelle picked up an air rifle and took aim. Without much delay, she hit the farthest target dead center.
The range owner's face fell, a mix of
astonishment and dismay. Having one pro shooter was bad enough, but now they had someone even better!
