Chapter 1722
"He's on a business trip?" she thought to herself.
No wonder he hadn't been home for so many days!
She had no idea about any of this. As his wife, she only found out about his whereabouts from someone else when he was about to come back. How
ridiculous!
That meant that she had been worried over nothing for the last few days.
Now, he was coming back?
She couldn't describe how she was feeling. She should have set her heart down a long time ago, but before she got the chance, her emotions were strung high again.
Whether as a designer or the wife of Master Trevor in Casterwich City, she was not short of an invitation. However, she had recently halted her participation in all events. She didn't even bother taking any invites. Even when she did, she never looked through them. Thus, Victoria had no recollection of such an event at all.
"I heard that Kylie's new line is quite interesting this time. She invited a lot of big stars to attend the event, so it's going to be a great party! You've been back for some time, so I'm sure you've settled most of the things at hand, right? Victoria, you love design. Just take it as a fun hangout with me. We can't let everyone else have all the fun, right? If they're all out, why should we stay home? Come with me please!"
Alicia kept talking, and Victoria felt her sullen mood start to lift. "Haha, okay then!"
Indeed, they hadn't seen each other for a long time. Instead of being so down at home, it was better to go out and take a breather. Who knew if she would have to endure another battle that night when Trevor returned? She was afraid that Trevor would use the chance to stir up trouble. Thus, she made sure to come back home every night before the sky turned dark.
After chatting for a while, they both hung up.
Kylie's launch event was due to start in the afternoon. In between, many big shot celebrities came to take pictures. It was very lively. Before Victoria even went out, there were already a lot of pictures from the event being uploaded online.
The items on show and worn by celebrities this time around, whether bracelets, necklaces, bags, or earrings, were all very unique. The main theme was an unisex spirit fox. This line was very classic and trendy. It was grand yet not tacky, which was very rare.
The exhibited items worn by the celebrities were limited, but looking at them still made Victoria feel better.
For the evening, she had chosen a dark green gown. She put on some simple makeup before heading out the door. She and Alicia practically reached at the same time. When Victoria saw Alicia looking gorgeous in white, she held up her dress and ran over.
"Ally!"
They were dressed like a pair of beautiful twins. With smiles on their faces, they hugged each other.
On this day, Alicia chose a white dress with a dark green handbag in her hand. Victoria had chosen the exact opposite. Her dark outfit was paired with a silver and white bag. Standing next to each other, they compared their bags.
"Haha."
Whether or not they agreed beforehand, they somehow always ended up dressing similarly.
Just like that day, when they were talking, Alicia had asked casually what Victoria intended on wearing so that they would not wear the same thing. Victoria replied that she was going to wear a dark color. In response, Alicia chose a light color.
Along the way, the two of them chatted happily as they walked hand in hand.
It was a rare day for them to get together. On this particular day, the Four Young Masters of Casterwich City, as well as Nicholas, were having a meal together. It was a rare event. They had all either brought their assistants or drivers with them. At the dining table, they let loose. They were in a good mood and all drank some wine. Therefore, they all tacitly talked about other things other than official business and entertainment. They all chose to be silent about the sad things or the women that they were sad about together.
Exiting the restaurant, Carson answered a phone call and began to knock on his forehead, "Oh no. An important client is here. It's an emergency. I need to go back at once."
As he spoke, he had already taken out his car keys. Waving his hand, he said, "I'll have to leave now. The next meal is on me!"
After they said goodbye to each other, a few of them went to East Bannpool together. In the private room, they sat down. Nicholas answered a phone call, and the topic slowly changed.
Frederick was the first to point it out. "Is Mom urging you again?"
Among them, he was probably the most lonely one. When he heard him talk about how he was watching Ally at the nightclub, Frederick already guessed what was going on. The only person who could make him use that tone and make such an excuse was none other than his very resourceful mother-in-law. Speaking of which, Alicia had been calling a lot as well. Unfortunately, she didn't seem to have any suitably single friends.
He had never ever seen any woman be so close to him before.
Pouring wine for Nicholas, Frederick could not help but do a double take at him.
Putting down the phone, Nicholas caught sight of this scene. "What are you looking at? I don't want to talk about it!"
The implication was that he was fine and he was not into men.
Unable to help himself, Frederick smirked. "Mom seems to have been calling you a lot lately."
His question was obviously in an affirmative tone. Nicholas nodded, but he subconsciously glanced at Trevor across from him. "Mm, I wonder how she found out that we're coming to East Bannpool. Are you afraid that I won't leave tonight?"
Their eyes met and Frederick seemed to understand more about what was going on. However, he couldn't help but be slightly puzzled. "Aren't you in this line of work?"
What did that mean?
Was she trying to urge him to get married soon?
Was it not a hurry for marriage? Was it because she was afraid that he would be gay?
Subconsciously, Nicholas looked at Trevor again. This time, no matter how slow he was, he still caught it. "She's just worried about you. Why do you keep looking at me?"
In the next second, Wyatt and Willy burst out laughing at the same time. "Haha." "Why do you think?"
Wyatt replied with a question. Willy added, "No one apart from you has been so restless with a girl clinging onto you! Second young master, don't forget that you are married now!"
The four of them were not only
known to be close on the inside, butnoveldrama
even outsiders knew that they were like four peas in a pod. They were carved from the same stone and their experiences were exceedingly similar. Thus, it was only natural that all of them were worried when Trevor's news broke out.
However, his scandals had been getting a little too realistic lately.
Trevor was already in a bad mood. Hearing their words, his mood sunk lower. He raised his cup and downed his drink. "My mom hasn't said anything. I won't be taking the blame this time."
Recently, he had been so focused on himself without caring about what other people were saying. He had caught wind of some of the groundless accusations but he was too lazy to do anything about them. All his friends had noticed by now, that that person had no reaction to it at all.
What do you think?
