Chapter 43 You Like Freya Stone?
Freya Stone didn’t deny it, saying, “I’m quite happy seeing trouble in your relationship.”
She wasn’t clear about Elijah and Liora’s relationship and had no intention of figuring it out. She only needed to know that Liora cared about Elijah. Being with Elijah would surely provoke Liora Valentine.
Elijah appreciated Freya’s honesty, pulling her into his arms and pressing her onto the bed. Feeling flustered, Freya stammered, “What, what are you doing? This is a hospital. If someone sees us, don’t you care about your reputation?”
Elijah smirked, “So, are you suggesting it’s fine as long as it’s not in the hospital?”
“No, no,” Freya immediately denied. How could she agree to anything, anywhere? Her earlier words were just meant to provoke Liora.
Elijah, captivated by Freya’s straightforwardness, restrained himself as he admitted the influence of the substances. However, his desire was apparent. Though he was indeed affected by the drug, he was not completely irrational. He just used the power of it to indulge himself, greedy for her breath.
Freya knew he was currently controlled by the drug and she said, “Elijah, you wouldn’t sleep with a woman who has had other men, right?”
She noticed Elijah’s high standards and self-esteem, evident in his treatment of Liora Valentine.
Elijah’s eyes flickered, suppressing complex emotions. “You don’t need to remind me all the time of your dirty past.”
He abruptly stood up and left the room.
Liora was waiting outside, relieved to see Elijah but also sensing an opportunity, planning to use his drugged state to her advantage. Approaching, she offered, “Let me take you back.”Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Elijah, with a stern look, said, “Liora Valentine, I forgave you for deceiving me about the fake pregnancy. That was my greatest mercy. But after tonight, you’ve run out of chances.”
With that, he left.
Freya Stone, inside the ward, heard Elijah’s words at the door. Liora Valentine’s use of a false pregnancy was unexpected and had backfired, jeopardizing her chances of becoming Elijah’s girlfriend.
She walked to the door, observing Liora’s disheveled state and her own composed demeanor.
Liora noticed Freya and, in a fit of rage, threatened, “What are you looking at? I’ll gouge your eyes out!”
Unfazed, Freya warned her, “There are surveillance cameras. Dare to make a move, and I’ll immediately show Elijah.”
Liora let out a frustrated scream, trembling with anger.
Leaning against the door, Freya looked on calmly, pleased that Elijah’s affections were shifting away from Liora Valentine. She touched her stomach, addressing her lost child, “See, those who harmed you are facing consequences.”
Closing the door, she sat on the bed, her gaze fixed on the water cup. Since Liora Valentine’s appearance, she had refrained from consuming anything provided by the hospital, only trusting what Linda brought.
Liora’s plan to harm her had inadvertently led to Elijah drinking the tampered water.
Freya called Orion Russo, informing him of Elijah’s situation, “You need to find a woman for him or get some medicine.”
Aiming at Freya, Liora likely used potent substances.
Judging from Elijah’s condition just now, it seemed that he was very uncomfortable.
“I know.” Orion Russo replied.
After hanging up the phone, Freya couldn’t fall asleep, tossing and turning in bed.
On the other side, Orion Russo acted swiftly, finding a woman for Elijah to alleviate his discomfort.
“Freya told me you’ve been drugged. If left unresolved, it might harm you. She asked me to find you a woman, rest assured, a clean one.” Orion Russo explained.
Elijah, seated on the couch, flushed and agitated, questioned, “What did you say? Freya Stone asked you to do this?”
Orion nodded, “Yes, she called to inform me about your condition. Probably worried you might endure it and harm yourself.”
Elijah, infuriated, tightened his fists, bones cracking. He was furious at the notion of someone caring for him by arranging a woman for him. He couldn’t comprehend why she didn’t address the issue herself.
Breathing heavily, Elijah expelled his frustration by kicking a nearby table, “Get out! I don’t need a woman!”
Orion Russo, startled, swiftly ushered the woman out. He cautiously suggested, “If you’re uncomfortable, there are other ways. You could take a tranquilizer, it might help.”
Elijah glared at him, “You too, get out!”
Orion Russo, bewildered, insisted, “We are just concerned about you.”
“Concern?” Elijah sneered, “If she truly cared, she wouldn’t intentionally provoke me!”
Orion Russo, catching on, realized Elijah referred to Freya. He heard Xander say before that Elijah had a crush on Freya Stone.
Elijah’s frustration puzzled him as he voiced, “You like Freya Stone?”
Elijah coldly responded, “How could I possibly like her?”
“I thought so.” Said Orion deliberately.
Orion understood Elijah’s reservation, not because Freya Stone wasn’t likable, but because she carried another man’s child. Elijah, unwilling to accept the possibility of being a stepfather, was unlikely to pursue her.
Elijah, already irritated, got up.
“You don’t want any tranquilizer or women. A cold shower for relief, go.” Orion suggested
Elijah ignored him.
But after returning to the villa, he took a cold shower.
The next day, Freya Stone was discharged, but as she exited the hospital, someone blocked her way.
