The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 32

"Ironhorn Alliance isn't lacking in resources. It only seems that way because of the internal power struggle. But if Ms. Chambers and Commander Hopkins are willing to help, I promise you-we'll honor every word of our deal," Jay said, sitting up straighter, his tone serious.

He was clearly worried that Analise and Scott would turn him down.

"Alright. What grade is Karl's mind essence?" Analise asked.

"He's the same as Commander Hopkins. An SS-grade," Jay said quickly, visibly relieved.

"How can I take your word for it?" Analise said, resting her chin in her hand.

"You don't have to worry, Ms. Chambers. To prove our sincerity, I've brought 10,000 Astral Ambers today as a down payment," Jay said, jumping to his feet. He reached into his pocket drive and pulled out five large bags of Astral Ambers, setting them neatly in front of her.

"You're welcome to have someone count them."

Analise blinked, a little surprised at how fast and serious Jay was.

Finlay stepped in smoothly and checked the contents of each bag. "It's real Astral Amber."

"Good. Then, we have a deal." Analise stood and extended her hand.

Jay looked stunned for a second.noveldrama

Analise was surprisingly easy to deal with. Not only that, but there was a shrewdness to her in the way she handled negotiations, too.

"Thank you, Ms. Chambers." Jay reached out, but with Scott glaring ice daggers at him from across the room, he barely touched her hand before quickly pulling his own back.

"The journey to Ironhorn Alliance requires five straight days on the Interstellar Starship. Why don't we leave now?" Jay asked Analise cautiously, still avoiding Scott's eyes.

"Alright."

"No!"

Three voices rang out at once.

Analise was the one who agreed. Scott and Finlay were the ones who shut it down immediately.

Jay awkwardly rubbed the back of his head and slowly sat back down, placing both hands on his knees and fidgeting.

"Why not?" Analise turned to look at the two of them, confused.

Finlay gently pulled her aside and leaned in close. "Even if you're helping someone else, you have to think about your own health first. Your body is fragile now."

Analise didn't know what to say but decided to ask Echo just in case.

"Echo, does being on my period affect the Purification Heart?" she asked the system mentally after rolling her eyes at Finlay.

"It doesn't affect it at all. Even other females in this world can calm males during their cycle. The only difference is that it might leave them feeling a bit more tired, but the mind essence used is exactly the same," Echo replied.

With that confirmed, Analise turned back to Finlay and said, "I'll be fine. I'm a pure human, so I'm different from the females here. Besides, in five days, my cycle will be over anyway. Nothing to worry about."

She walked back to the couch and said, "I just need to pack a few clothes and supplies. Then, we can head out."

Scott turned toward Finlay, as if to ask why Analise decided to leave.

He shot Finlay a look, then turned to remind Analise, "Ms. Khielson's birthday is in

three days. Didn't you promise to go?"

He didn't care about Vera's birthday. It was just a good excuse. He

wanted Analise to wait until bol ne

cyclewas over so her body would be fully recovered before the trip.

"Hmm..." Analise frowned, thinking. "But saving someone's life is more important.

We can have the housekeeper send her a gift."

Honestly, she hadn't wanted to go in the first place.

After the face Vera pulled that day when she dropped by the house, Analise had a

hard time believing she was just some sweet, innocent girl.
