Ruth instantly felt her smile freeze at Hendrix's question.

Everyone in the room understood exactly what Hendrix was implying. After all, before Noelle reconciled with Hendrix, she was just an ordinary person. Even if Ruth had fallen on hard times, she hadn't reached the point where she needed to grovel to Noelle.

But now, things were different.

Noelle was now Hendrix's wife. Ruth had been skeptical about this at first. If the two had truly reconciled, how could there be no news about it?

She wanted to say more, but Hendrix cut her off, "Is that all you've come to say?"

"Well, then, you may see yourself out now."

It wasn't until a household staff approached her and politely asked her to leave that she finally snapped out of it.

"I'm at a friend's place. Do you have time today?" Ruth replied.

"Which friend? Her place looks so familiar. Do I know her, too?"

Ruth stared at the screen, smirking at the sudden eagerness in the texts.

Then, she typed her reply. "Really? What a coincidence! How about we all grab a meal together sometime?"
