Chapter 85: Had Something To Prove
Despite the ongoing scandal in the fashion world, the national competitions continued as planned; however, the semi-finals of the competition were redone, with one of the losing teams brought back to the game.
It was the one closest to the Merissa team’s marks.
All four groups were reshuffled. Wilson still maintained first place, with Lily in second, Fairies in third, Funray in fourth, and GV Fashion, who had replaced Yellow Hills, in fifth.
According to the previous arrangements, Wilson gets a pass to the finals, while the rest of the team competes against each other.
This time, Lily’s was matched with Fairies Fashion School, and both will have to compete for a spot in the finals.
The host walked onto the stage with a bright smile, almost as bright as the light in the hall. “Hello everyone!” He greeted me with a wave of his hands and a cheer.
“As you all know, due to some circumstances, we have to replace a team in the semi-finals so that we all can have a fair competition.” He began.
“So amongst the other teams that were scheduled to go home, we picked the ones with the highest points, and for their fans, I’m sure you’ll be happy to see them back on stage,” he announced, and the fans of the GV team cheered.
“Alright, without wasting much time! We will get straight to the point! In this segment, Lily’s fashion will be going again to Fairies Fashion School; isn’t that exciting?”
“Both teams were given the same theme to work with. The theme is feathers and angels. We want to see and experience the ethereal beauty of those divine beings. We want their beauty to captivate us at a glance.” He echoed excitedly.
“And so I present it to you! Lily’s and Fairies! As usual, cast your vote; no cheating and no hate comments!”
Once he was done with the announcement, Gary and Alana, whom Lily had forced into the modelling gig for just the night, walked onto the stage, both in a contradicting colour nod, black and white.
As the lights focused on the two models, the audience erupted into cheers. They were captured by their beauty, elegance, and attention to detail in the costumes they had worn.
“Oh my goodness! I feel like I’m seeing an angel!”
“Ahhhh! I want! I want!
“Look at that feeling of attention to goddamn details! Has Lily ever seen an angel?!”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
“I love the contrasting colour. A dark angel seduces the light angel! I just got a freaking story idea!”
“Those wings look so real; look at the layers!”
“I bet it will be fluffy and soft to touch! I’m definitely going to be getting my Halloween costume from Lily’s!”
“Wait, is that Lily walking the runway?”
“No, it’s the tailor! She made a post about ten minutes ago about being blackmailed into running the hall! Ahhh! Omg. Lily made the feathers herself!”
“Look, I found a post she did, and we are promised a video of the process!”
“I’m going to use all my family members’ phones to vote! I can’t afford the costume, but I can afford to vote!”
Alana, adorned in black angel attire, gave off the captivating charm of a succubus, seducing the light angel.
The black feathers meticulously sewn onto the bodice created an illusion of wings, wrapping around her figure like a gentle embrace. The feathers extended downward, transitioning into a layered, ethereal skirt that seemed to float above the ground. A delicate, intricate lace mask obscured half of her face, accentuating the air of mystery surrounding the dark angel.
She moved her wings just as she twirled and winked at the audience before going back to the backstage area with an extra sway of her hips.
Gary, on the other hand, gave off the essence of divine purity in his white angel attire. The radiant white feathers on the shoulders and sleeves evoked the image of wings, hinting at celestial power. A shimmering silver sash wrapped around his waist, further enhancing the heavenly aura.
Complementing Alana’s ensemble, Gary also wore a mask-a minimalist, white design that simultaneously highlighted his strong features and concealed his identity.
Contrary to Alan’s flirty atmosphere, Gary gave off a completely innocent and ethereal elegance that made the female audience swoon.
“I admit defeat,” the designer from Fairies Fashion chuckled as he sat beside Lily, watching the runway.
“Damn! For a moment, I literally thought I had seen an angel. How did you pull it off?” He asked curiously, and Lily smiled.
The
“I had help from my teammate, of course. That was just a combination of what we all considered an angel to look like,” she replied calmly, her eyes still on the large screen in front of them.
“And maybe I have seen a real angel,” she teased, and he laughed.
“You’ve got the skill and the backing to survive in this industry. I was surprised, though. I mean the thing between you and Merissa. That’s some unhinged moves, but I’m glad she’s going to be brought to justice,” he said, making Lily nod.
“To be honest, I’m glad it happened,” she breathed out as she turned to look at him.
‘After all, if it didn’t happen, I, Victoria, would not have been here today.
“I wasn’t really motivated to compete in the first; I only wanted to attend because I was nominated, but after that, I knew I had something to prove, and I needed to get back at her.”
“So yes, it worked in my favour, as twisted as that might sound,” she explained.
The two fell into an uncomfortable silence while they kept watching the fairies’ model walk the hallway.
The team had also done an excellent job. If they were against some other teams, they probably would have won. Their attire, even though it wasn’t as detailed as Lily’s, was detailed enough to give off an angel vibe.
Combined with the model’s beauty, the attire would have won the hearts of the audience.
Unsurprisingly, as the host announced the winner of the segment, Lily’s fashion had the highest score rate amongst all four groups.
And at the end of the day, Lily’s and Funray’s fashions proceeded to the finals.
As the segment closed up, the designer from Fairies shook hands with Lily with a smile and said, “Congratulations.”
“Thank you! You did wonderful too,” Lily replied.
“Of course I did. It was my bad luck to be paired with such a monster as you. How about a collaboration between both of us?” He asked with eyes full of expectations.
“I’d love to work with you sometime! I’ve always loved your work!” She replied truthfully, and his smile widened even more.
