The Proud Boss Lady.

Chapter 13: 13

Chapter 13: 13

Zed's coffee shop was filled with people, ranging from shop attendants to CEO's of prestigious

companies. It had started showing a couple of days back and they wanted to get something warm into

their system to start the day. With Christmas around the corner, everybody was buzzing with

excitement.

“Can I get black coffee, milk and one sugar?" Ace said without looking up from his phone.

“It's nice to see you again Ace." Zed drew his attention to him.

“You must be kidding, from a driver to a cashier, I guess the heavens hate you Zed." He teased.

“I own this place Ace, and I don't have to work under a proud bitch no more." He spat.

“Y-you what?" He couldn't believe his ears.

“He's your coffee and you're holding up the line." He smirked as Ace shamefully walked out.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, humph. Zed added as he continued with his work.

“Took you long enough," Soraya said as Ace entered the office.

“Well, you won't believe who owns the newest coffee shop in town." He told.

“I don't care, my coffee please." She said not lifting her eyes from her laptop.

“Well, it's Zed and here's your coffee." He set it on the table and turned to leave.

“As I said, I don't care." She rolled her eyes at him.

So he went from my driver to a merger coffee shop owner. She laughed at the information she had

received.

“Hey Sis, how's work and mom?" Zed said returning his sister's call which he had missed early on.

“She's fine and what about you?" Jess asked.

“I am fine, but I want to talk to you about something." She hesitated.

“Okay, spill it." He said.

“ Well, I um, I wanted to come to Jersey City to come to study a professional course in hairdressing,

you know I learnt this from Ms Lola, but I want to have a degree or maybe a diploma in hair making."

She poured out her guts.

Jess had been there for him, their mom and Jackie. She hardly had time to do what she wanted. And if

this is what she wanted to do, he was going to support her.

“Don't worry about the money, I have already saved up enough for tuition and all." She told. She had

applied for the course a few months ago and she had gotten in.

“So all you need is a place to stay?" He asked.

“Exactly." She grinned.

“Don't worry you can come to stay with me till you get a place of your own. Does Ma know?' He asked.

“ Yes, she does, it hurts me to leave her all alone at home, even though Amelia has come over to live

with her." She told him.

Amelia was their younger cousin who was schooling at Jamesburg borough school. She was in middle

school and used to stay with her uncle who abused her, so Jess made her come to stay over. Her

mother loved the young girl and Amelia loved her grandmother as well. Amelia was Trudy's youngest

sister's daughter.

“Then that's great, when do you intend on leaving Jamesburg borough and does Jackie know?" He

kept asking questions.

“ She does, and then I would leave the next two days." She told him.

“Okay, fine by me, I would send you the address to my house and would leave the keys under the

doormat in case you get home before me." He said to her.

“Thanks, Zed, see you soon." She dropped the call.

I'm happy for her. He thought to himself as he locked the shop and walked to his motorcycle. He put on Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

a helmet, jumped and sat on the bike then sped off into the night.

“Nichole, wasn't that Soraya Wayne, the over-pampered bitch from high school?" Nikki asked joining

her friend in the kitchen.

“Yes, she's the one," Nichole answered.

“ I know what you're thinking, but I know what I am doing Nikki, just take a chill pill." She smiled at her.

“You better do, cause I don't want you hanging out with her and behaving like her as well," Jesse said

as he entered the kitchen.

“Yes, Sir can you both---" She was cut off by the doorbell.

“I'd get that." She said walking to the door wondering who that could be.

“Nicolette?" She said surprised to see her twin at the door.

“Come on in." She said as they walked into the kitchen.

“Jesse, Nikki?" Nicolette happily called.

She dropped her bags and moved to hug them both. They all used to hang out.

"When did you guys come?" She asked.

“ A couple of weeks back," Jesse answered.

“Okay, someone didn't tell me." She glared at her sister.

“Wait, do you know she hangs out with Soraya?" She asked.

“I knew, but I warned her against the bitch, why what happened?" She day on the counter ready to

listen.

“The bitch came here, acting high and mighty as if she owned this place, she even tried to glory with

Jesse, you could have seen his face." Nikki chuckled making Nichole laugh.

“But seriously sis, that's why I came here, I saw the video where she humiliated you. That's the last

straw, you need to stop hanging with her, she's bad news." Nicolette stressed.

“What video?" Jesse asked as Nikki showed it to him.

“Is this who you call a friend?" He fumed.

“Seriously, you need to ditch her, cut all ties. We don't care about the back story, this is enough to part

ways." He stressed.

“Okay, okay, okay!" She exclaimed.

“I would ditch her okay, but at my convenience." She said to them as they shook their heads at her.

They had said enough and if she wasn't willing to listen it was her loss.

“It's your call." Jesse angrily walked out as Nicolette and Nikki set the table.

I would ditch her, but not after my payback. She deserves it. She thought to herself.

“Hey, I just called to see if you were home," Zed said through the phone.

“Nope, still at the office, my collection comes out tomorrow. I need to make sure everything is perfect."

Freya said.

“You workaholic, you need to rest Freya, tomorrow's the big launch, So please get rest, just for me

please. Or else I would come to the office and drag you home." He said to her.

“Okay, I will get rest, I promise. I have a room in my office I could sleep there." She smiled.

“Okay, sound sleep and goodnight then and congratulations on your winter collection." He said as he

dropped the call.
