Chapter 470 An Unexpected Proposal
After hearing Frey's words, Sawyer felt as though his heart had been brutally sliced, leaving him in agonizing pain.
He sneered, "He doesn't have to get his hands dirty himself, but he lets other women betray you and even has you imprisoned and tortured. Truly, what a man he is."
Frey suddenly stood up, grabbed her bag, and turned to leave.
"Why the sudden rush? You can't handle the truth about him? After four years of hard work, your family is ruined, and you've spent three years in prison..."
"Enough! Mr. Sawyer, if you don't want money, I can find someone else, there's no need to dwell on my personal life."
Frey tried to free her wrist from Sawyer's grasp, but his grip, honed from his boxing days, was unyielding.
As her face reddened with frustration and she considered throwing her bag at him, expecting to make him realize what he has said is inappropriate. She struggled to stay calm.
Suddenly, Sawyer sighed, "Alright, I won't pry anymore."
"I don't care about Nathaniel's affairs."
"Sit down and talk. Where did you find the child? I'll arrange for someone to help you investigate."
Frey was momentarily taken aback. She found it odd that Sawyer seemed so erratic—could he not communicate normally?
Sawyer genuinely seemed to fear her anger.
He realized he couldn't pry from her anymore, but he was intrigued by the unresolved issue between Frey and Nathaniel.
He made the right decision to come to Pontenero because Nathaniel and Frey seemed to have a big fight, and it was unlikely they would solve the issue together. Sawyer wanted to see what was going to happen next.
"Sit down. I promise not to anger you further. I'm curious and want to understand
the situation. You've asked for my help, so let's discuss it properly."
Frey, resisting the urge to hit him, sat back down. She needed his help now more than ever, as she had a eto her brother and couldn't
to waste this chance.
"It's at Music Square, in the alley where you saw me that night, I saw him near the south of the square."
"I was alone then. I walked through the square and tried to pass through the middle alley to reach the main road."
"Suddenly, he rushed out of the alley near the square entrance and grabbed my bag. It happened so quickly."
Frey recalled every detail with care. Her younger brother's situation was always on her mind.
Sawyer nodded and made several phone calls in front of Frey. His fluent Pontenese and aristocratic tone suggested he was consulting local experts.
After the calls, Frey felt slightly more at ease.
She transferred the contract to Sawyer's phone, but he didn't open it.
"Alright, I'll transfer the money directly," Frey said, preparing to call Mandy Large transactions required computer processing and some formalities. noveldrama
"Don't rush. I'm just gathering information for you-it's not that costly," Sawyer said, rising and stretching. "Besides, helping save my future brother-in-law is worth much more than this!"
Frey's face froze as Sawyer leaned in with a smile that didn't match his icy voice.
"Frey, I bet you and Nathaniel will never work things out. In the end, you'll have to marry me!"
With that, Sawyer stood and walked out of the café, leaving Frey holding the car keys.
Outside, a few people waited. Sawyer appeared very busy and instructed Frey to drive back to the hotel on her own.
As Frey watched from the café window, she saw him get into a red sports car and blow her a kiss.
At that moment, she thought of Jacob, who also loved driving a flashy red sports
car.
