The Moonlit Desires: Bound by Blood

Chapter forty-one

The whole building was noisy, some slaves were crying while some were busy discussing about the slave trade that took place last night. I was sitting at the extreme with Alma, quiet and just looking at them.

I don’t know but I don’t feel too well, I know I am closer to something…. Something that I have no idea about but I just feel that I am too close to something important to me.

Whatever it is, I hope it will be something that will help me out from here.

Just then, the door was pulled open, causing everywhere to suddenly go quiet. No noise could be heard as everyone quickly composed themselves. The guards shifted and the she-devil walked in.

“Why is she here?” Alma murmured beside me but I just shrugged. I also had no idea.

I watched her stop in her tracks and slowly scanned the place. The way she carries herself with so much superiority and confidence annoys me. Tilting her head toward my direction, our eyes locked and I saw anger immediately flash through them.

“Hey,” she pointed at me. “Yes, you stand up,”

I wonder what I have done this time?

I looked at Alma who was looking back at me with concern in her face and for the first time, I saw pity in the faces of other slaves sitting inside there. Is now certain that I am their steady target despite not being the only werewolf here.

“Be fast and don’t waste my time, dog!” she snapped, emphasizing that last word. Swallowing hard, I stood up and Alma quickly intertwined our hands. Fear flashing through her face, I watched her tremble before I directed my gaze back to the wicked she-devil in front of me.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

She flashed Alma a disgusted look and then glared back at me. “Follow me,”

“Huh,”

“Don’t let me repeat myself again,”

I tried to leave but Alma held me tight, her face filled with concern and fear. “Do you also want to come with her?” Her voice rolled off in sarcasm, irritation tinged in her tone.

“Alma pleased,” I muttered, giving her a reassuring smile.

She doesn’t have to worry about me, even if they torture me to death. I will not be losing anything, just the quest for my vengeance will be altered. But her….. She will lose a lot.

“Take the two!” Serena growled, her face etched with a scowl.

“No,” I quickly interfered before the guards could make a move. Looking at the already sobbing Alma, I quickly pulled my hand away from her and walked out with Serena and the other vampire guards there.

For the last few weeks, I have already reduced a lot. Merely looking at me you will know that I am suffering, that I am a typical slave trapped in the midst of my enemies. My hair had already tangled and looked frail. My eyes seem pale, I can no longer feel my cheeks, and they now look bony.

No words were said as we both walked inside a building. She doesn’t seem happy though that was none of my business.

We climbed the stairs and entered the second floor of the building. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice when a slap landed on my face, “SMACK” I staggered back immediately, my hand coming to rub my cheeks as my head snapped at the intruder.

“Sofia,” Serena called, shocked at what happened.

“You!” She tried to slap me again but her fist was suddenly seized by Serena. “Sofia, you have to stop,” she barked, sounding confused.

“Why?!” Sofia screamed, her eyes fiercely glaring at me.

The pain in my cheeks stung enough to bring tears to my eyes. I bite hard on my lips, doing my best to keep the dampness in my eyes from running down my face. I can feel the anger in me boiling, if not that my wolf had been suppressed I could have torn this fool apart. I don’t care how small Elena might be but I promise to feast her claws in this fool’s heart.

“Sofia, you have to calm down,” Serena is now standing in front of me, shielding me from the angry-looking monster.

Is she protecting me? Just no way!

“Tell me why he has to release her from that slave quarters?!” She yelled, trying to strike at me but Serena held her back.

She should be lucky that no one is passing here because they would have tagged her mad. But wait a minute…… released? Who released me from the slave quarters? I thought I was here to be tortured just like usual.

“It is none of your business, Sofia!” Serena snapped at her, surprising me and the yelling physco as well.

This is getting interesting though I refused to believe that she is defending me. A vampire can never support a werewolf, it has never been heard of….. We were born to kill each other at first sight.

Looking at Serena, Sofia seemed to freeze on her spot before erupting into a mocking laugh. Is this girl mentally stable?

“She has also possessed you, right?” She snapped, “You are now supporting her right?”

“She has nothing to do with this!”

“You are…..” She snarled, “She is an enemy, have you forgotten!”

“Just stop it, Sofia!”

“Stop telling me to stop it….. Stop telling me!” She yelled. “Tell me what is so special about her that he can’t just kill her like he had done to others?!”

She snarled at me, I raised my eyebrow at her while questioning. The fact that I had no idea of what was going on here, who couldn’t kill me? Why is she angry?

I was still in my own little world when immediately she rushed toward me but was quickly blocked by Serena. All this while I just stood by the side, surprising my laugh as I watched her go on and on, yelling and shouting.

“Get away from me, if he can’t kill her then I will,” she rushed forward again but Serena was quick enough to hold her, this time she angrily pushed her.

Ah… I gasped as Sofia fell to the ground in full force.

“You should ask King Alessandro his reasons and stop belittling yourself!”

King Alessandro?

Wait a minute…. He released me from the slave quarters, for what exactly?

More like she read my mind, she coldly snapped at the dumbfounded Sofia on the floor. “I have been given an order to bring her to the king, so respect that,”

“Serena, she is an….”

Stammering in shock, Sofia slowly pointed at me but was quickly cut off by Serena. “Is an order, and remember is from the king,”

Despite the sudden confusing news, I couldn’t help but feel goosebumps down my spine. For some unknown reason, I feel oddly excited like I am closer to something.

This was the same feeling I had when I first met Vincenzo as my mate. What is going on?
