Chapter 66: Haywire to hellfire
Fanuel.
I stared blankly at the doctor who hovered over Christine as he checked her pulse and blood pressure.
She was fine.
I rubbed my temples and sighed in relief, releasing shaky breaths and sucking in deep breaths.
I was extremely mad that I couldn’t think anymore, all that was clouded on my mind was that I lost a whopping contract worth billions of dollars.
I lost all my shit and flare-up, not caring about anything that moment but to vent all my anger and frustration to Christine who kept pleading.
It was already late as she slowly slipped into consciousness making me cower in fear as a memory flickered before my very eyes.
Crystal.
I was right there when she died, I couldn’t do a thing to save her!
Thinking about that incident gives me a hard migraine.
I swore not to beat a girl to a pulp but I totally lost my shit when it came to Christine and regretted the next minute. Deep down, I shouldn’t give a damn. I shouldn’t fret but punish her for her dad’s crimes but my heart keeps screaming at me at how wrong that sounds!!
Fuck!! I’m going crazy right now.
Why would Christine even sign a very vital document the first day she stepped into the company?
I was so blinded by the thought that she might have plotted something outrageous to get back at me but it couldn’t have been in this manner!!
I slammed my fist on the wall causing it to vibrate from the effect.
Alex!!
That son of a bitch!
My heart slammed against my ribcage and everything now dawned on me.
The package, the ring, now rings a bell.
Christine was fooled into signing the contract thinking it was just an ordinary delivery package confirmation.
My throat became raspy and dry as I stared at Christine whose fragile body lay weakly.
Her last words echoed in my ears before she went unconscious and I closed my eyes deserving every bit of it.
“Fuck you Fanuel, Fuck you Webb.”
She cursed her Dad.
She had to since he was the foundation of the earthquake he created before disappearing.
Maybe his mother was right, he was slowly turning into a monster.
Ever since Crystal died, he became immune to anything and anyone especially with Alex.
I was definitely going to kill that douchebag if he didn’t stop messing with him. I Shouldn’t be thinking about Crystal right now but Damn!!
I fucking miss her!
I know I sound outright stupid but that was the reason I kept Christine, those hazel eyes that got me crumbling on my feet.
Edward and Jay bursted in like a flash and stared at the doctor who was now infusing the drip on her.
They were mortified.
“You didn’t do this to her right?” My brother’s voice cracked with emotions and I swallowed hard. He was at the verge of breaking down but he tug his hair instead.
My palms become sweaty not because of what they would do to me but because…. because my heart was shredding in guilt.
I shouldn’t have hurt her.
“Say something.” Edward asked as he stared at her shaking his head.
If there’s anything about my friend it’s his ability to control his temper.
He would never lay hands on anyone, well of course except Alex.
“I can’t do this Edward, I’m out of here.”
“Jay…
” what? I don’t know where my brother is anymore!! ” he spat out with spite.
“You don’t hit a woman, never! Its clearly visible that Christine might have been tricked into signing this. We could have sought a solution but Fanuel rendered the innocent girl in this state.”
“Can you be calm for a moment? You will worsen the case if you sing this outside.”
Edward was suppressing his emotions for my sake and he needed to make sure Jay doesn’t tell anyone about whatever happened.
“I’m done boss, she will be up in the next five hours.” The doctor said and I nodded watching him leave through the entrance.
While they had their argument, I didn’t butted in or show any emotions.
My expression was plain and blank, devoid of whosoever was breathing.
I had one goal after she’s up, I don’t care if her hatred for me triples, I’m meeting with Alex right now and beating the crap out of him.
It wouldn’t replace the embarrassment I had during the meeting or replace the damaged contract except my wife has a company to carry out the project.
Nothing could be done at this moment other than to devise another plan to prevent the company from going bankrupt.
As for Mirabel, she could be my Saviour right now but knowing that bitch, she would ask for the abominable.
I will use her as a bait to get what I want with or without granting her request.
“Where are you going?” Edward asked me when I reached for the door.
“To find out who created this mess, take care of her.” I said dryly and left hearing Jayden cursed me.
*****
Edward.
I know my friend can be an ass sometimes but I think he went too far with Christine.
I know the damage the company put him through but killing her won’t solve the problem.
I stared at Christine who lay peacefully while the drip infused slowly into her body. A mere look could tell that she was in pain, her hair was sprawled on the bed with dry patches of blood on her cheeks.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Her lips were dry and cracked with her mouth slightly open, Her brows were always arranged while her lashes were aligned beautifully.
She was still beautiful even in this state, I sighed and tossed off some tendrils of hair threatening to fall while Jay hissed.
“Christine shouldn’t stay with Fanuel”
“Your brother would not like that tone”
“Oh! You prefer he commits murder right?”
“I’m not saying so but she’s legally married to him, she doesn’t have a choice and Fanuel will have to break someone’s nose before suggesting that shit.
I guess we just have to prove her innocence and check up on her.”
“I can’t believe he did this.”
“Me either, she just appears unlucky to be his punch bag.”
“Christine is innocent, I know it. Aside from Alex, I wonder who plotted this.”
“I was thinking the same, have you thought about the staff?”
“A few of them confirmed that Christine asked for documents in person which was a blatant lie. Something is really off.”
I sighed in frustration.
The problems keep multiplying and we keep getting confused. Fanuel is just being riled up and pins anything to Christine to cover up faults.
It’s from haywire to hellfire!
