The Lady Nun Vows Revenge

The Silent 691

Sophie's eyes widened. "You..."

Only now did Sophie realize that the insolent, masked "servant" before her possessed formidable fighting skills.

Sophie's eyes gleamed with calculation. She flicked her sleeve the next second,

and another venomous serpent shot out.

But this time, the deadly creature wasn't aimed at Rafe.

Instead, it arrowed straight toward Eliza, seated at the head of the table.

No one knew her vipers were parasites under her control, allowing her to command at will when they struck.

Sophie had it all planned out. She thought slyly, 'If Rafe dares to grab the viper with his bare hands again, I'll have it turn and sink its fangs into him.

'Of course, it will be even better if he doesn't try to catch it.

'Now may not be the perfect moment to strike, but so what?

'Once my viper sinks its fangs into that bitch, I won't even need to deploy my parasites to subdue her.

As for the shadow guard lurking in the dark, Sophie wasn't worried at all.

After all, the parasites I've planted around the hall are no pushovers, Sophie thought. If that shadow guard dares to show herself, I'll make sure she disappears without a trace.'

But was it as simple as Sophie thought?

"Watch out!"

"Get away!" Adeline and Dale shouted in alarm.

But to their astonishment, the masked "servant" and Eliza, still seated, remained motionless.

They seemed as if they'd been scared stiff.

But the next second, the seemingly unremarkable maid behind Eliza suddenly sprang into action.

With a flash of movement faster than the striking viper, she darted forward and shielded Eliza.

Two cold glints flashed through the air.

With a sickening crunch, Renee instantly cut off the venomous snake's head and tail and removed its fangs.

Even after hitting the ground, the severed snake head thrashed, still trying to strike again.

But before it could open its jaws, a heavy, ruthless boot came crashing down, grinding it into a bloody pulp.

Even its venomous fangs were utterly shattered amidst the pulverized remains.

"How dare you try to assassinate the Holy Lady! You must have a death wish," said Renee.

She glared at Sophie and then turned to Eliza, whom she shielded behind her. "Your Grace, I request permission to execute this wretch."

"How dare you!" Sophie roared in fury. "I am the daughter of the Duke of Mowbay and Lord Celeb's secondary wife. And

you, a lowly maid, dare to kill me?"

Hearing the words “lowly maid,” Eliza's eyes turned icy. She instructed, “Slap her.”

"Got it, Your Grace," Renee replied.

In a flash, Renee appeared before Sophie, her hand raised for a stinging slap. "Drop dead!" Sophie snarled.

She took a step back and, as she turned, flicked her sleeve, sending several more vipers flying.

The snakes bared their fangs and lunged straight at Renee, who was just inches away.

However, in the next instant, a flurry of Flying Needles shot from Rafe's hand, while Renee, already prepared, flicked out two razor-thin blades.

With several swift strikes, all Sophie's remaining vipers died on the spot. Their bodies hit the floor without even a chance to writhe.

With all the vipers dead, Renee's hand shot out and landed a resounding slap across Sophie's face.

"Ouch!" Sophie shrieked hysterically as if she'd gone mad after being slapped.

She screamed, her voice trembling with rage, "Eliza, you bitch! Did you storm into the Marquis' estate to shame me today? The world thinks you're some flawless saint, but who knows you're a wolf in sheep's clothing, ruthless enough to destroy your sister."

"Don't flatter yourself. The Holy Lady would never claim someone like you as her sister," Renee said and glared at Sophie coldly.

Seeing that Eliza hadn't ordered her to kill Sophie immediately, Renee guessed Vexara still needed more time.

So, after delivering the slap, she swiftly retreated behind Eliza.

But she didn't put away the razor-thin blades between her fingers.

Her wary gaze stayed fixed on Sophie. If Sophie dared make another move, this blade might just slit her throat the next second.

Meanwhile, Rafe stood nearby, idly twirling the Flying Needles in his hand, his predatory gaze fixed on Sophie from the

start.

That eerie gaze sent a chill down Sophie's spine for some reason.

What she didn't know was that the last person Rafe targeted had already had her limbs severed and made into a new "human jar."

Yes, a new one, not Solomon from before, but Louisa, the one he had finally managed to obtain from Nolan after arriving in Hasen City, a person already sentenced to capital punishment. He had turned Louisa into a "human jar.”

Sophie clenched her jaw, shooting Rafe and Renee a vicious glare.

Her gaze finally locked onto Eliza, and the hatred in her eyes erupted like a storm.

'God, I wish I could tear her apart with my bare hands right now,' Sophie seethed, murderous intent practically radiating

from her.

She had changed her mind.

She thought, "That bitch has too many powerful allies, though I can't fathom why

those wretched servants are so damn loyal to Eliza.

"To be safe, as long as there is a chance, I will kill Eliza directly.

'I may not get to torture her to vent my hatred, but at least if she's dead, it's better than letting her slip through my fingers one day!'

After two seconds of silence, Sophie forced down her murderous intent, thinking, "These two wretched servants are in my way. There's no way I can make another move right now. I would have killed Eliza by now if it weren't for them.

'I mustn't act rashly, absolutely mustn't.noveldrama

'I clawed my way back from death's door. I don't want to die again.

'So I must find an excuse to retrieve my King Parasite from Caleb's body first.

Once I have my King Parasite back, I'll slaughter all of them!'

With that thought in mind, Sophie suddenly broke the tense silence, pointing at Adeline and Dale as she said, "Eliza, I know exactly why you came to the Marquis's estate today. You're here to save them, aren't you?"
