Lorraine stuck out her tongue and made a face. "Why would I wanna play Blackjack? Grandpa says that gambling makes you a bad child, so you'd better watch out, Mr. Murphy lest your grandpa whacks your bum!"

Caleb couldn't help but chuckle. His grandfather was no longer alive at his age.

He then waved at Lorraine and said delightedly, "I'll head out to play if you don't wanna follow me."

At that, Lorraine huffed and said, "Go on. I don't care."

Seeing Caleb turn to leave, Lorraine walked up to Matthew and said, "Dad, you're not allowed to play Blackjack."

Matthew then carried Lorraine affectionately and pressed a kiss on her chubby cheek. "Alright, alright. I'll listen to you and not play Blackjack, okay? I'll play with you instead."

Upon hearing that, Lorraine said happily, "You're doing a great job, Dad! Let me sing a song for you as a reward. I'm gonna start singing now."

After she said that, Lorraine cleared her throat and began to sing, "Daddy is the best in the world. Every child will be treated like treasure by their dads..."

Matthew froze on the spot when he listened to her sing. The song was originally meant for mothers, but Lorraine had changed the lyrics from 'Mommy' to 'Daddy', and it made Matthew feel a glowing warmth in his heart.

Ever since he had Lorraine, Lillian had always told him three things about children.

The first was that children would never bite the hand that fed them. The second was that children would always stick close to those who treated them well. Lastly, children would know if you were treating them sincerely.

Back then, he didn't really understand what Lillian meant, but he still conveyed those words to Tessa and asked her to accompany Lorraine more instead of going out with her friends all the time. That was the reason Matthew stopped attending those class reunions.

Even though Anton had come over to invite him, Matthew was still reluctant to follow him. He said, "I... I've got some matters to settle at home, so I don't have the time to go."

Anton said, "Matthew, I've already promised them you'd come, so just help me out for once. You have to go. Do me a favor, alright?"
