The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 294

Tracy kept clicking her tongue as she said, "Rae, you're one of the four top beauties in Khoitwood and known as the icy beauty.

"Men line up just to get a chance with you, but you're not interested in any of them. And now, this icy goddess is going to apologize? That's as likely as pigs flying!" Upon hearing that, Rachel's expression turned a bit bitter and said, "Back then, I hadn't really gotten close to any man.

"But now, Matthew has come into my life, and we've been through so much. I don't want to miss out on him. Let's go. Come with me to buy some gifts and get a lot of them."

A car pulled up in front of Lambda Villa.

Looking at the entrance, Andrew asked, "Are you sure you want to ask Hayden for help? It's a big favor and could be hard to repay unless you're actually planning to marry him."

Sara understood Andrew's concern and said, "Andrew, he's already helped me once. I believe he's a good person and capable. The thing is, I need to get rid of that chauffeur. Hayden is the only one who can help me now."

Andrew sighed, realizing he hadn't protected Sara well enough. He said, "Actually, I want to get rid of Matthew, too. I can't move on until he's gone. Let's get out of the car. I'll go with you to meet Hayden."

...

Meanwhile, at the entrance of Silverbrook Village, a cab came to a stop. Tessa frowned and said, "Drive into the village. There's still quite a ways to go."

She had sold her car to pay off debts and hadn't taken a cab for a long time, so she wasn't used to this mode of travel.

The driver shook his head and said, "I can't. The village doesn't allow outside vehicles in. If we do drive in, we'll be fined."

Tessa was immediately frustrated and refused to be left at the village entrance.

She retorted, "I don't care. I paid for this ride. You have to take me to my destination, or I'm not getting out."

The driver had endured a lot

throughout the ride, with her

complaining that the car was old and had an unpleasant smell inside. Now, with her being unreasonable, he was on the edge of losing it.

"If you want to go directly to your destination, drive yourself! If you don't have a car, then stop complaining. Just get out of the car!" he said sharply.

"You!" She snapped back, "I was

driving a sports car worth several

million dollars until just yesterday. If

I hadn't had to repay debts, I

wouldn't be riding in your lousy cab!"

The driver retorted, "Don't talk about the past. What good does that do now? Your car's gone, so get out and stop wasting my time!"noveldrama

Tessa gritted her teeth and

reluctantly got out of the car. She used to live in Silverbrook and didn't want to attract unwanted attention from the argument-that would be embarrassing.

Her face burned with humiliation as she faced the curious stares of the villagers. Yet, she had no choice. Otherwise, she would have to sell her house.

When she reached the gate of the yard, she saw Matthew playing with Lorraine. They were playing a clapping game, with Lorraine's occasional giggles filling the air.

Tessa had once viewed her dull and ordinary life as boring. Now, she realized that this was true happiness, unlike the constant anxiety she felt about her debts.

She didn't even have time to cry, let alone smile. The creditors had never given her a moment to rest.

She couldn't help but imagine that if she hadn't divorced Matthew, he would have paid off her debts by now.

He would have given her money to spend, and her life would have been all about shopping and enjoying herself. However, she had divorced him.

Thinking about the divorce made her feel like slapping herself.

She stood at the door, lost in thought. After a while, she mustered her resolve and walked in.

Seeing Tessa, Matthew frowned and said, "You're not welcome here."
