Chapter 1755

"What... You've really done it now, Helen!" Gavin reared his head skyward and groaned.
He did not even want to imagine how devastated Frank would be when he heard about that.
Here Frank was, putting his life on the line to save Gavin, only for Helen to allow Huub to burn down Cologne Court!
That was when Terry rubbed his eyes, staring at Scarface in disbelief. "Wait, is that really you boss?! They let you out?!"
However, Scarface strode up, his expression cold as he slapped Terry across the face right then!
Although he knew that Terry was working for Frank, he did not care to celebrate reuniting with his close friend, even though he looked so delighted to see him—not after he found out what had happened here!
"B-Boss?!"
Terry was left clutching his swollen cheek as Scarface's slap floored him, and he stared at Scarface in confusion. "Why did you slap me?"
"Why, you ask?!"
Scarface bellowed as he pointed at the burning mansion, "You're working for Mr. Lawrence, aren't you?! So what were you doing, allowing someone to burn down his house?! You're a useless piece of shit!"
Even as he ranted, Scarface began to clobber Terry.
For his part, Terry did not fight back and clutched his head as he sobbed, "Yes, just beat me up! It's my fault for not protecting Mr. Lawrence's house... I'm a failure..."
"Stop."
Madfist strode over just then, catching Scarface's wrist. "What good could come of this?"
While he spoke with the authority of
a man with seniority, he could tell
that ce was not relenting, and
he knocked Scarface to the ground. "Calm down!"
"How am I supposed to calm down, old man?!"
et
Scarface struggled and yelled even as he was floored. "Mr. Lawrence was ready to lay down his life to save Gavin Lane, but what did this piece of shit do?! What did any of these pieces of shit do?! Didn't you see the look on Mr. Lawrence's face before?! No, I will kill these mooks right now! Now, I say!!!"
His bellows left the scene even more tragic, just as Helen was jolted to her senses.
Staring at Gavin in shock, she blurted, "What... how..."
"Frank saved me."
Gavin sighed, collapsing to the floor and staring at the mansion burning in the distance. "He really put his life on the line to save a geezer like me, holding the bomb and almost dying right then..."
"I... I..."
Helen's whole body shuddered at Gavin's words, and she could not speak.
She was thoroughly disappointed in herself, whether it was being cold to Frank or labeling him a thief.
Frank had always stayed true to himself, and Helen remembered what he had said so disappointedly back at the karaoke box.
"In the end, nothing's really changed."
Helen buried her face in her palms and sobbed, finally realizing that she was wrong, not Frank.
"It's just a mansion, isn't it?"
Gina finally spoke up just then, clapping Helen on the shoulder.
