The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance

Chapter 644

He always thought that even if Nora resented him, even if she refused to leave him any shares, she would at least divide them equally among her own children.

But to his shock, she hadn't left so much as a penny's worth of shares to Jonathan or his two brothers.

Jonathan said, "I'll find a way to persuade Stella to give up her original shares and accept regular stock instead."

At present, Aurora only held regular shares as well.

Skyler had already converted all the Williams Group's original shares into common stock. The times had changed; he no longer wanted other shareholders to have a say in the company's decisions.

Skyler considered this for a moment, then nodded.

"Jonathan, I'll leave this to you."

...

The next morning.

As soon as Stella walked into the studio, Abby and the others swarmed around her.

"Star, I heard you were in a car accident! What happened? Was it because you haven't driven in a while?"

Stella explained the whole story, laying out everything that had happened.

Abby clenched her fists in anger after hearing it. "That scumbag Sellers-what a piece of work! He's even worse than Jasper!"

Jasper was all bark and no bite; he might try to stir up trouble now and then, maybe spread a few nasty rumors. But Sellers? Sellers had actually tried to kill Stella.

Candida glanced Stella up and down. "Star, are you hurt?"

Stella looked at her swollen wrist. "It's just a little puffy-nothing broken, though. I'll be fine."

Just then, Joshua, who'd been silent until now, finally spoke up. “Ms. Cameron, you said Sellers' brakes suddenly failed. Did anyone figure out why?"

Stella turned to Joshua, surprised at how sharp he was.

"Sellers claims it was sabotage," she replied, "but the specifics aren't clear yet.”

Haynes and Neville were already investigating, but she doubted they'd turn up anything quickly.

Joshua frowned thoughtfully. “Msÿ Cameron, you had a big argument with Sellers, and right after that his brakes fail? That's quite a

Coincidence, isn't it?"

He'd hit the nail on the head.

It was no wonder Sellers and Sherman were so quick to lay the blame at her feet;

there was a certain logic to it.

Stella met Joshua's gaze. "You mean..."

"Someone like Sellers makes plenty of enemies," Joshua said. "If there was sabotage, it probably happened at the scene. And to bet whoever did it was there in person."

Stella's eyes narrowed slightly. "Why do you think so?"

He shrugged "Not many people would dare mess with Sellers. And for the accident to happen right after your argument? I don't buy that it's just acoincidence. Whether that person was trying to help you, or frame you, they'd have to knew about your fight with Selfers."

He paused. "But that's just my theory."

Stella fell silent, turning things over in her mind.

There were plenty of people at the scene, but not many with a real motive.

It couldn't have been Neville. If he'd done it, he would have admitted it outright.

Haynes was out of the question too. While in the car, he'd warned her multiple times to steer clear of Sellers.

As for Foreman... He was gentle and cultured-just about the last person she could imagine doing something like this.

That left Jasper.noveldrama

Could he have tried to get someone else to do his dirty work?

Jasper might not be smart enough to pull it off, but Rachel certainly was.

And now, everything was unfolding exactly the way they would have wanted. Stella's expression grew cold as the thought struck her.

She'd tried ignoring Rachel and Jasper, but they just wouldn't leave her alone.

It looked like it was time she took matters into her own hands.
