Chapter 35: Scapegoat

Blood suddenly spurted out from Sophie ! She wept in pain. Then came the second knife, the third knife.

.....

"Sophie, you are ugly now! No man will like you anymore!"

Edith knew that she was hopeless now.

She couldn't get Zac, and Zac would not allow her to coax him.

But after so many years of persisting and planning to convince Zac, all of a sudden, she learned that Sophie was not dead and returned to his side, making Zac cherish her more than ever! All she could do now was to not let live in peace.

She would get her revenge either by hook or by crook.

She wouldn't dare to do things against Zac but to Sophie, Edith certainly wouldn't let her go! Edith, who already lost her sanity, was particularly ecstatic by what was happening.

Sophie shouted the names of two people, one was Zac, the other was Tristan.

Edith laughed savagely, "What a fool! Do you know why you are here? Zac is so focused on protecting his lover.Do you think that I would let you go so easily? Why don't you guess who I am scheming this with?"

Sophie fell on the ground and tried to get away.

With her struggling, the rope broke and her hands were now free.

She jerked out her hands, pushed Edith away, and then tried to walk out, her legs still wobbling! Edith would not allow her to go.

She rushed towards and grabbed her hair mercilessly. Two other men took away.

"Sophie!"

Zac ran frantically into the old factory building.

There was a strong smell of blood in the air.

A dreadful atmosphere were all over the building.

His heart throbbed faster and faster.

It was very quiet, which made people feel the chills in their spine.

He finally found Sophie .

She sat down on the ground thoughtlessly, her hair was messy, her body was pale, and her face was full of wounds and blood.

It was a terrible sight to see.

Sophie was like a lifeless body.

At that moment, he suddenly felt great remorse.

He broke his promise in protecting her and never letting her get hurt again.

But what's more difficult to see was Edith, lying in a big pool of blood, beside Sophie .

Zac held his breath and went up to check on them. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

But Edith had passed away already.

Her throat was sliced using a knife.

And the blood stained knife was found on Sophie's hand...

"Sophie, don't be afraid! Don't be afraid, it's me!"

Zac went over and grabbed her shoulder.

Sophie slowly raised her eyes.

She looked at him with those clear and bright eyes coldly, with no innocence left.

At that moment, Zac's mind went blank, and then he asked tentatively, "Sophie, you...do you remember all of it?"

"Yes."

After she said that, she glanced at Edith lying on the ground "I killed her, I am a murderer."

Everything was too unrealistic.

She regained her sanity and immediately faced her cruel reality.

She would be charged as a murderer and go to prison! Zac was thinking how to help her.

Just as he was about to think of something, sirens could be heard from afar! They seemed to fall into a hole.

He breathe uncontrollably.

It was too late to escape and escape the scene.

Zac gritted his teeth and snatched the knife from 's hand.

He erased Sophie's fingerprint on it, and then left his own.

He held her face and told her firmly, "Remember, you didn't kill anyone! You don't remember anything, you didn't regain your consciousness. You don't know anything! I killed her, but I did so to save you! You are innocent.Got it?"

The sirens were getting closer and closer.

She was in a state of confusion.

Looking at the man who once loved and hated her greatly, she suddenly didn't know what else to say.

"Remember, you don't know anything!"

After he finished saying those words, Zac raised his hand and struck her nape, knocking her unconscious.

Before falling into a coma, the last thing she remembered was his determined eyes full of love and reluctance to let go.
