“The higher–ups always seek stability. They don’t want trouble.

“And many of them have deep ties to the 20 families in the Panacea Ocean Warriors Alliance.

“Their families still enjoy the benefits those families provide.

“Their massive savings remain in those banks.

“With such entangled interests, how could they ever fire missiles at fleets that threaten us every day?

Brendon suddenly shouted, “What the hell? It’s so damn hot in here!”

Elliott pressed his ear to the wall, his eyes widening. “Someone’s setting a fire! That bastard Snivy’s trying to burn us alive!”

“Zayn actually let Snivy do this to us?” Catherine’s voice cracked with despair.

Thick smoke began to crawl through the tiny gap in the window.

Flames licked at the air, creeping closer.

Brendon screamed, “We’re screwed! We’re gonna burn alive in here!”

Maverick and the others threw themselves at the door, kicking desperately. “Open up! You’re setting us on fire–do you know what you’re doing to the royal bloodline? You’ll be wiped out for this!”

But their shouts were swallowed by the flames, unanswered.

The fire raged, growing stronger with every passing second.

The smoke thickened, choking them, making it hard to breathe.

Outside, Snivy stood with his men, watching the inferno consume the building.

A dark smirk spread across his face. He climbed into his car and sped off, heading to the secret location where Shirley was held.

Moments after Snivy left, Colonel Yoder, head of the Harmonfield Guard, arrived with his team.
