Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Roman picked his napkin up and dabbed at his mouth.
Was this the game they were playing? He had expected those words at some point but he knew
why she was saying them now.
This was how his little Evelyn was going to try to get out of her contract.
“Is that so?” he asked and then sipped his wine.
“And that’s it? You don’t have anything to say to me?”
What could he say? Only weeks ago he’d struggled with the idea of having to let her go once she
voiced what was so clear in her eyes every time he visited her. But now? She had given him a reason
to ignore her words the moment she had tried to run away from him. He supposed he could be thankful
about that now even though she had caused him a lot of inconveniences when he had to find her and
then follow her. He wouldn’t have had an excuse to keep her around before that.
Because he was keeping her.
Until he had enough of this arrangement, all her moans, all that fire that burned inside her, all her
filthy words when he pushed her over the edge... All of it belonged to him.
A picture of his dad and Esther invaded his mind but he pushed it away. This wasn’t the same
situation. He was in control of her and could easily walk away if he had to. Evelyn would never tie him
down, and his name would never be linked with hers.
“No. I don’t have anything to say to you,” he answered.
The fake smile she had worn on her lips since she had opened the door for him fell off her lips. A
little bit of fire showed in her eyes, but he saw her look away from him as if she was trying to calm
herself down.
This was more like what he had expected. He had been a dick on purpose by leaving her stuck
here and deserved whatever harsh words she wanted to throw at him. Just this once. She could take
her frustrations out on him and they could try to move on from this nasty business.
“I thought I could handle it,” Evelyn said, her eyes on her wine glass. “In the beginning, even
though you made me feel all these things, I thought I’d get used to it and learn to manage it. But I felt
more. Everyday. And I knew I was breaking the rules, but I was going to tell you anyway because I
thought there was a chance.”
She spoke quietly but every word brought a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Dread filled
him because he heard the truth in every word.
“Love, Evelyn?” he chuckled. “Tell me what exactly you love about me.”
She met his gaze and the confusion was so clear on her face. So young and naive. Maybe it was a
good thing she had met him because she would get to learn for herself that there was no such thing.
Love was a figment of one’s imagination. There was no logic to it and it was baseless. It was an
excuse used by the fickle-minded to explain why they made stupid decisions, or why they stayed in
unhappy relationships.
“I... You. I love everything about you,” Evelyn said.
“You love the way I fuck you,” he corrected, not caring that he was being crass. “You love the way I
eat you out. You love the way you gag on my dick.”
“Roman_”
“You love everything I do to you, Evelyn. And I admit, it’s phenomenal. But loving me? That’s a lie Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
because you don’t even know the first thing about me,” he continued. “So let me stop your games right
now and tell you that it doesn’t matter what you tell me or do, I’m not letting you out of this contract.
When the day comes when I’ve had enough of you, I will give you your notice. Until then, get
comfortable because I think that’s going to take a while.”
The fire increased in her incredible emerald eyes until they were spitting at him.
“You know what? Maybe you’re right,” Evelyn snarled as she stood up. “Why would I fall in love
with such an arrogant, heartless bastard like you?”
“Indeed,” he agreed.
“You’ve been ignoring my phone calls! You left me stranded here for a fucking week!” she shouted.
Evelyn had never raised her voice at him. She was so beautifully submissive even though she had
all that fire burning inside her. It was a new experience, watching her bring all of that down on him.
“As I said, I was busy,” he said calmly.
If Evelyn had been a violent person, he was sure this was the part she would have thrown
something at his head. Her mouth dropped open and closed, and the fury in her eyes speared through
him. Instead of making him angry, he was surprised to notice how incredibly turned on he was.
“I told you that I had things to do,” she hissed. “My time may not be valuable to you, but it’s very
valuable to me. I’m not going to ruin my future just because you’re an asshole. All you had to do was
get my car, which I wouldn’t have left if you hadn’t abducted me in broad daylight!”
Now that made him chuckle. He pushed his chair back and stood, too. Evelyn’s eyes lowered so
he knew she could see the effect she was having on him.
“Wh... What are you doing?”
He walked around the table and slowly approached her. Evelyn took a step back for each of his
until she foolishly backed herself into a corner.
“It’s okay, Evelyn. You love me, remember,” he said as he put his hands on the wall on either side
of her and caged her in. “Show me how much.”
“If you think for one second that I will let you_”
He brought his lips down to hers to silence her. When he released her, her eyes were still spitting
fire at him.
“You are the most_”
He kissed her again. A little longer than the first. A little more demanding. When he lifted his head
he was satisfied to see how breathless she was.
“You will never own me,” Evelyn said.
“Oh, but I already do,” he reminded her. “Every inch of you.”
And when he caught her lips this time, he didn’t let her go. Evelyn melted against him, predictably,
as he devoured her. It felt different this time. She kissed him with all of that angry fire inside her until it
was burning him up. His mind reeled. There were so many sensations that he felt he was drowning in
them all as she started to rip at his clothes. He felt her urgency matching his own as he pulled up her
dress and pushed her panties down.
There was no time to remove anything else. He'd barely released himself from his trousers before
he pushed into her welcoming heat.
He was usually proud of his control when it came to Evelyn, but there was none of it this time. No
finesse. No thought. Just this crippling need as he hammered into her against the wall.
When she finally called out his name and her muscles started milking him, he tensed before
tumbling headfirst to join her. Evelyn clung to him and he couldn’t help tightening his arms around her
as he brought his forehead down against hers.
Exquisite. Addictive. He had no words to describe the feelings she had awakened in him.
It was as he was catching his breath, still buried deep inside her when he looked down at the
flushed face of the woman who claimed to love him. Briefly, it was Esther he saw in his arms, and the
shock brought him down faster than anything.
He pulled out of her quickly and set her down.
"I can't stay tonight," he said as he tucked himself in. "I'll see you next week."
