Chapter 230
Chapter 230
Wyatt is watching her sleep. He couldn’t move his gaze away from her. He even fixed her blanket and even turned the air con at it’s lowest peak. He smiled at her. He pressed his lips on her temple. “I love you still, my wife… my soon to be wife…” he whispered. He bit her lower lip. He could say that following her has a progress. She even invited her inside her unit without any harsh words. He walked out of her room and he looked at his watch. It’s already six in the evening and it’s still early. He went to the kitchen again. He look for something to cook and he found nothing. He sighed deeply. He decided to get his coat so he would go to the nearby convenience store to buy something to cook. He left her while she’s asleep and he walked towards the elevator and pressed the ground floor. When he’s already at the lobby, the rain is pouring so hard and he doesn’t have any umbrella in his hands. He sighed again. “What a bad luck!” he uttered. He run towards the nearest convenience store. It was ten minutes away from the building where he was and she’s staying. He was cold since he was wet. He didn’t give a damn if he was chilling now. He buy fruits and even meats and vegetables. The heavy rain didn’t stop until he reach the building again. He walked towards his unit to take a quick shower since he doesn’t want her to wake up without food in their. He will cook for her since it’s exactly what he wants now. To serve her. After twenty minutes, he went towards her unit. Good thing, he has her key card so he can enter again. When he’s already inside the unit, it was peaceful and there’s no Ivy roaming around. He put the groceries in the counter table and went to her bedroom. He saw her still peacefully sleeping and he just smiled again before going back in the kitchen. He prepared something to cook. He will cook some adobo dish and he wanted to make it up with her of all those years that she exerted effort to him. He wanted to serve so he will exert some effort
too. He could feel that he was chilling and that he was cold but he didn’t give a damn fuck about it. It wasn’t a problem either since he wants her to eat the food he prepared. Wyatt cooked and after an hour, he was done. He made some other side dish for her and he put the food in a plate then into a tray before he went to her room. He didn’t knock because he knew that she was still sleeping but then he was startled when he saw her awake. His hair was a little bit messy and same as him, she was startled too. “W-What are you doing?” She asked, stuttering. Wyatt walked towards the bedside table. “I cook food for you. You are awake already.” He muttered, softly and his voice was weak. Ivy raised a brow. “Why you didn’t go back?” she questioned. “To your unit?” Wyatt eyes shows sadness. “Uh, I just want to make sure that you eat… and I want to keep you safe.” He replied. Ivy notice something to him. She knitted her forehead. “Are you sick?” she asked. Wyatt looked away. “I’m fine.” He replied. Ivy gets up on the bed. She was still frowning when she stood up right in front of him and immediately put her hand on his forehead. “You’re chilling!” she hissed. “I am fine, Ivy…” he smiled at her weakly. “I’m alright…” he mumbled. Ivy was not convinced with his words. She checks up on him again and he was literally hot… he has a high fever. “You bathed with the rain?” she asked, frowning. Wyatt looked down. “I… I don’t have an umbrella…” he replied. “I just buy some groceries and yeah, I cooked for you.” Ivy frowned even more.
“You shouldn’t have done that!” she hissed, her voice screams concern. Wyatt raised the side of his lips. “Are you concern about me?” he then asked. Now, the tables turn. She was the one who stayed still now in her position. She looked down and question herself. And then, she shook her head. “I… I am not concern.” She answered, firmly. Wyatt sighed. “I can see that you are still concern to me and I am happy for that…” Ivy looked up into him. He cough slightly. “Lay down in the bed,” she commanded. Wyatt shook his head. “N-No… it’s alright—” “Just lay on the bed!” Ivy hissed even more, commanding him. Wyatt is happy inside. She was scolding him and it made him realize that the woman he abandoned years ago, is concerned about him. Still concern about his health. He did what she had said. He laid down on the bed, look at her with happiness. “You stay there,” she said, narrowing her eyes on him. “Don’t move, wait for me there.” He nodded his head. “I won’t move. I’ll stay.” She walked out of the room and went to the kitchen. She took a basin and a warm water. She heaved a deep sigh. “Why do I even do this? I am not concern about him.” She told to herself. “It’s just a pity.” She added. She went back in her room. She saw him peacefully sleeping. Her heart hammered inside her chest. She gulped even more. She took the towel and put it on the warm water before she wipe his body. She was shaking and she’s literally swallowing hard. She doesn’t know where to look at but then, she drop her eyes on his broad chest. She gulped again. “You are so stubborn!” she hissed almost hit his chest. “You know that it’s raining and yet you went to convenience store without even an umbrella!” she scolded him. She was on the verge of crying. She was still concern of him even after of what he did from the past. After all, he was her husband before. “Stubborn,” she cried while she’s wiping him off. “I hate you…” she frowned even more. When she was done wiping his body, she put the blanket above him. He was chilling and cold. She turned off the air con and she seated beside him. She look at the food he prepared. She smiled secretly. “You even prepared my food,” she whispered. “I’m moving on and yet you’re here… you are chasing me…” she added.
