Chapter 42
Amelia’s Point Of View.
“You really have the guts to talk like that?” I turned my back and saw dad, his brow furrowed as he looked at me.
I held back my tears because I felt they weren’t helping me.
“Stop pretending you’re the victim here, Amelia!” he said angrily. “Why didn’t you just say sorry?”
I wanted to cry but I laughed sarcastically and looked at dad in disbelief. I can’t believe he said that. Damn it.
“Sorry? For what?” I murmured, I felt the pain in my chest.
“See? Is that really your daughter? That’s her real attitude.” I heard Celia said so I turned to her. “Maybe your mom was thankful that she died because she might see that kind of attitude of yours.”
I glared at her angrily. “Don’t talk like that about my mom,” I said angrily, holding back because I might hurt her. I’m also annoyed because dad doesn’t even seem to care that his useless wife says those things to his first wife.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Why? It’s true what I’m saying isn’t it? It’s a good thing she died because-”
Before she could finish what she had to say, I slapped her hard causing her to scream and I heard my dad cursed loudly.
“Amelia! You’re really trying to test my patience!” dad yelled at me angrily so I quickly confronted him.
“Are you really still my father? You’ve really changed, dad! It’s okay for you that she talks about mom like that?! Really, dad?!” I tried to stop crying but my voice broke from screaming. “How many times has mom’s name been ridiculed by her! Because of your worthless wife, dad! You don’t even do anything? You just let it go?!”
“Shut up, Amelia!” he shouted at me loudly, I could see the anger in his eyes while looking at me. It’s not the same he looked at me like he loves me very much. “Just get out of here like you’re sorry!” he added.
I quickly wiped the tears that fell from my eyes while looking at him. “You’re not my dad I know anymore,” I uttered and quickly left in front of them.
While I was leaving the hospital, I couldn’t stop expressing my anger and tears came out of my eyes one after another. I’m hurt by what’s happening, I’m hurt that my relationship with dad is not the same anymore.
He doesn’t understand me and I don’t understand him either. I want to understand but I just can’t because of his new wife. She made him change, she’s the reason why Dad is like this right now.
When I got inside my car, I just leaned on the seat while continuing to cry. Because of what happened, we will never go back to what dad used to be.
Should I accept that everything will never go back to the way it was before?
I don’t know how many minutes I cried in my car but when I looked at my watch, Caleb and Aria class was already finished! 20 minutes have passed since their class ended, so I’m sure they were looking for me.
I moved quickly and hit the traffic. I just tightened my grip in the steering wheel and tried to call their teacher who was there but my cell phone batter was dead.
Damn it!
Chase’s Point Of View.
“Where’s your mom?” I asked them both.
“I don’t know, dad,” Aria answered. “But she should be here right now but today she’s not.”
“Maybe she just left,” Caleb answered. “She won’t leave us here and I’m sure she’ll be angry if you take us here,” he added while looking at me.
I didn’t answer.
“Why would mom be angry?” Aria asked, confused.
