Chapter 27
Chapter 27
At dinner time.
Lucian’s aunt, Cora Lindberg–Hamilton, was the last to arrive. When she walked in alone, Carler asked in displeasure, “Where’s Jason?”
“He said he’s going to a birthday party for a female classmate.”
“Oh, Jason has a crush?” The old man’s face immediately lit up, nodding nonstop. “He’s not a boy anymore. If she’s the right one, wel should meet her.”
“Okay.” Cora Lindberg–Hamilton replied, but she didn’t seem as happy as the old man. She knew her son too well to have high hopes.
Sitting nearby, Allison was taken aback by the conversation.
Lately, she hadn’t seen Jason because of her busy schedule. But she’d heard rumors at school that Jason was seeing a girl named Audrey.
So, it was true.
Well, that was good. At least he won’t bother her anymore, and she won’t have to keep making excuses to reject him. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
On the way home, Lucian was driving. Through the rear–view mirror, he saw the agate necklace on Allison’s neck, “Did Aunt give you this?”
After dinner, he saw Cora Lindberg–Hamilton taking her for a walk. When they came back, she was wearing, this necklace.
“Yeah.”
“What did she tell you?”
“Aunt said…” Allison began, then suddenly stopped. She blinked rapidly and fell silent.
“Hmm?” Lucian was driving and thought he didn’t hear clearly.
“Aunt said…” Allison felt shy and whispered, “She hopes we can set a wedding date soon and have a baby early.”
Through the rear–view mirror, Lucian looked at her. His eyes suddenly dimmed, and he squinted.
It’s time to set a wedding date, but for some reason, Allison’s face flashed through his mind at that moment.
Even as he looked at Penelope in the rear–view mirror, he seemed to see Allison’s shadow.
That woman had indeed left a deep impression on him!
Meanwhile, at the hospital.
Two figures were tightly embracing on Penelope’s bed.
Biting her lip, Penelope let out shy moans, which became increasingly bold.
The man gently patted her, “Aren’t you afraid of calling the nurses here with your noise?”
“It’s all because of you.”
Penelope’s face was still covered with a red rash that hadn’t faded. Her usually beautiful face didn’t look so good now. The man found it somewhat distasteful, but this woman really knew how to let loose.
“When will your face get back to normal?”
“The doctor said, as long as I control it, most of it will be gone by next week.” Penelope also felt uncomfortable. If it weren’t for the allergy, she would be the one at the Lindberg family’s house right now, and there would be no need for Allison to replace her.
The corner of the man’s mouth curled up, revealing a smirk, “What do you think would happen if your parents saw us?”
Immersed in their affair, Penelope was sweating profusely, “My parents won’t come at night, Pete; don’t leave tonight, I’m so bored alone.”
“Am I much better than Lucian?” The man known as Pete was David’s son. Every time Pete thought of Lucian, his eyes filled with competitive desire.
Penelope was taken aback. She and Lucian hadn’t been intimate, so how could she possibly know what he was like?
Despite the events of that night at the hotel, where she successfully got Lucian to propose, Lucian barely touched her. His attitude towards her was polite but also distant and cold.
This annoyed Penelope to no end.
