Chapter 2147 Told Her Everything
Chapter 2147 Told Her Everything
Upon hearing this, Damian's face darkened. He thought for a while and replied, "Actually, I don't totally
believe in him. But a glimmer of hope is better than despair. I really don't know what to do. Sheryl is
now..."
"Damian, do you think it's worth doing so much for this woman? She doesn't even appreciate it.
Instead, she threw herself into her ex-husband's arms. How do you feel about that? Aren't you sad?"
Duke asked.
A tinge of despair flashed across Damian's face. He forced a smile and said, "Sad? It's not as simple
as being sad. I feel as if a knife is being twisted in my heart. I feel the pain all over my body. But now
I'm numb, and I can't feel anything."
Duke couldn't help but feel sorry for him. However, he felt like he couldn't do anything as Damian
seemed completely entranced by Sheryl. He didn't know what to say then.
"To be honest, I think you should just give up. It's not worth risking your life for a woman who doesn't
even love you," Duke said with a sigh.
Damian didn't respond. He lowered his head, deep in thought.
"I know I can't persuade you to change your mind. Forget it. I've tried my best. What will you do in the
future then?" Duke added.
Damian suddenly raised his head, his face terrified. "I'll go ask Sheryl," he said.
"What are you going to ask her?" Duke asked hurriedly.
"You don't need to know that," Damian said in a cold tone. There was a look of ecstasy on his face. It
was obvious that he wasn't going to listen to anyone.
All he wanted was to see Sheryl and ask her why she did this to him!
Duke had no choice but to give up. Although he couldn't persuade Damian, he couldn't bear to see
Damian continue making the same mistakes over and over again. If Damian did something wrong, how
could he explain it to Damian's father?
Duke then decided he would send someone to monitor Damian from now on. In order to prevent
anything bad from happening to him, he had no choice but to do this.
After Duke left, Damian paced back and forth in his room.
In the past few days, he had been going to the Cloud Advertising Company to see Sheryl, but Isla
wouldn't let him.
He would then go to where Sheryl lived, but no one was ever home. Not even the children or any
servants.
Damian would try to call Sheryl only to find that Sheryl had turned off her phone.
What happened?
A bad feeling crept up in his heart. 'Is Sheryl cutting me off?'
Damian was going crazy that he couldn't control himself anymore. He needed to see Sheryl right now.
Damian knew that Duke wouldn't help him, so he had to turn to a private detective for help. He had
paid a lot so he could find out where Sheryl was.
The city was huge. Thankfully, the private detective helped, and they were able to track Sheryl down in
a hospital, looking after Clark.
The first thing Damian thought when he was told was that Sheryl was avoiding him.
After all, she didn't have to dismiss the servants, she didn't have to stay in the hospital all day long, and
she didn't even have to turn off her phone.
Damian had lost his mind. All he could think about was that he had to find Sheryl as soon as possible.
He took a taxi to the hospital. After asking which ward Clark was in, he went straight upstairs.
In the elevator, Damian was so excited that his heart almost jumped out of his chest when he thought
of seeing Sheryl, the woman he missed every day.
Not long after he entered the elevator, a man in black, who was following him, took out his phone and
called Duke.
"Mr. Li, the man you asked us to follow is now in a hospital. Should we continue to follow him or not?"
"Hospital?" Duke was a little surprised.
"Yes. He looks very anxious and very excited at the same time," the man continued to report the
information.
Duke thought for a while and replied, "Follow him. Remember, send more people to protect him. No
matter what happens, tell me immediately."
The man in black then quickly followed. When the elevator went straight to the fifteenth floor, he also
pressed the up button.
Inside Clark's ward, Charles was tightly holding Sheryl's hand as a way to support her.
Melissa went back to the Dream Garden earlier because she needed to take care of Shirley.
It was quiet in the ward except for Clark's heavy breathing.
Sheryl stared at Clark's pale face. She still couldn't believe that Clark had been poisoned. She always
thought it was just a dream. When she woke up, Clark was not sick, and he was still a healthy child.
However, this was the reality. Clark was sick, and Sheryl couldn't do anything about it.
"Charles, Clark's asleep now. What should I do when he wakes up and screams out in pain? I can't
bear to see him like that. I'm afraid..."
"Sheryl, I'm here. Don't worry," said Charles.
Sheryl nodded. The only thing that was keeping her sane was that Charles was with her. If Charles
wasn't there, she wouldn't know what to do.
Suddenly, Charles' phone rang.
He immediately declined the call in fear that Clark would wake up.
"Sheryl, it was Vicky. The man she was looking for has arrived," Charles said to Sheryl gently.
Charles had told Sheryl about his plan, so Sheryl knew that the man Charles was talking about was the
one who was good at disguises.
"Charles, this is a risky game. We're in a hurry, so we need to be careful," Sheryl urged, sounding
concerned.
Charles nodded his head and kissed Sheryl on her forehead. "Okay, I'll go first. If anything happens
here, call me. And if Clark wakes up, call Director Liu."
"Okay." Sheryl's heart sank as she watched Charles leave.
After Charles left, the ward seemed much quieter than before. She felt the air in the ward suddenly
become so suffocating that she found it difficult to breathe.
At that moment, she heard the door open. She turned her head and was instantly startled. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Damian was standing at the door.
When did he come? How did he find her?
Sheryl's first response was to ask Damian to leave. After all, she wasn't in the mood to deal with him
right now.
"Sheryl!" Damian said.
