The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate

Chapter 27

Sara's eyes fluttered open slowly, as she lifted her head from the bed. The rays of sunlight reflected directly on her eyes and she used her hand to obstruct the rays.

The door opened, and Violet walked in, who instantly increased her pace when she saw Sara sitting up.noveldrama

"My Lady, you are awake," Violet uttered as she ran to Sara's side.

"Slowly." Sara sat up with Violet's help. She looked around the room before turning to Violet.

"I was at the ceremony hall, how did I get here?" She asked Violet, who smiled at her.

"It was Alpha Killian that brought you here," Violet replied, wondering if she should tell her about Killian's condition or not.

"Oh! Did I pass out or..." Sara's eyes bulged as she remembered what had happened to her at the ceremony hall. She remembered being poisoned and almost on the verge of death; she also remembered Killian holding on to her dearly, and she remembered... "Oh no! How was I saved? Where's Killian?" She screamed out as she could remember Savannah's condition; she still had a bit of consciousness left when Savannah gave Killian those two choices. She had badly wished Killian wouldn't hurt himself for her, but she was too weak to say anything. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't open her mouth to stop Killian.

"The Alpha..." Violet said with such a low tone which made Sara's heart skip a beat. "What happened to him?" Sara fidgeted as she dreaded anything bad happening to Killian. Violet smiled at her, which reflected her fear a bit.

"The Alpha is fine, it's just that he sacrificed a lot to save you," Violet said, and Sara's eyes bulged wide.

"He pierced deep into his own heart, with blood gushing out as the cut deepened. He could only moan silently in pain as he crushed his wolf's heart, just so he could save you. His clothes were fully drenched in his blood, and one would think that he swam in a pool of blood. He suffered all of that just to save her." She stopped when she noticed tears streaming down Sara's cheeks. She inched closer to her and hugged her.

"He needs you now, as I am sure he had lost about eighty percent of his power. He is very weak right now and vulnerable to attack from all sides. He needs your protection now." Violet continued and Sara broke off the hug. She wiped her tears and looked into Violet's eyes.

"You are right; I shouldn't be crying weakly here; I have to heal his wound and protect him. Where is he now?" Sara asked and Violet smiled at her.

"He is in the meeting hall with the elders. I could sense how weak he was when he carried you in his arms, even though I offered to help him, he refused, saying he should be responsible for his mate." Violet said, and Sara rushed out of the room.

"Be careful also; you know you are just recovering. Don't let his sacrifice go to waste," Violet screamed as Sara ran out of the room. She didn't stop a bit throughout her run to the meeting hall. People looked at her and wondered why she was running that fast with her health condition.

She suddenly stopped abruptly, her heart raced, and her vein pulsated, as she saw the once strongest man she knew, walking so weakly and relying on a stick to walk. There was no doubt that Killian was greatly hurt for her sake.

Killian didn't notice her, as he slowly walked in another direction, which led to the pack's clinic.

As he lifted his leg to take another step, he felt his head swoon and he felt so dizzy. He staggered backwards and vomited blood which shattered every part of Sara's heart.

She ran towards him and supported him with her hands.

"Sara, why are you here? How are you feeling now?" Killian asked as he rolled his eyes all over her.

"Look at you. Are you, not the injured one here, yet you are caring about someone? That's perfectly fine." Sara muttered. Her eyes had welled up in tears as she saw Killian's condition with her own eyes. An ordinary werewolf would have been dead by now, but Killian could only rely on his Alpha powers to hang on.

She escorted him to the clinic where Killian's wound was diagnosed.

"The cut is deep, and he has lost so much blood. I am afraid even Savannah can't save him." The doctor said, and Sara disagreed immediately.

"No, there should be a solution; there should be something that we can try out; please think carefully." Sara cried out, while Killian held her hand.

"It's alright Sara, don't make it hard on the doctor. I am fine, seriously, I know my health very well." Killian said, while Sara slowly withdrew her hand from his'.

"Don't lie to me, I saw you spit out blood some moments ago. How could you be fine when you have your heart pierced through." She replied to him.

"We can try out something." The doctor said, and Sara's face lit up.

"There's a rare herb that has a magical effect; it could for sure heal the Alpha and

regain about sixty percent of his power. The only problem is that the herb blooms once every five years, and it is located in the forbidden forest." The doctor said, and Killian instantly disagreed with him.

"Sara, you can't go; that place is too dangerous for you to go alone." Killian cried weakly but Sara didn't look at him for a second.

"What's the name of the herb, and how do I identify it?" Sara asked the doctor, who scribbled its diagram on a piece of paper.

"It's called the King's herb, and it's exactly as drawn on the paper." The doctor replied and Sara smiled.

"No, Sara, you can't go," Killian said as he tried to stand up from the bed he lay on. Sara smiled at him and hit his acupoint before he could dodge.

"Sara...you..." Killian muttered before passing out slowly.

She gently placed him on the bed and smiled at him.

"You've been protecting me all these while, it's now my turn to protect you." She smiled.
