Chapter 26
Chapter 26
Kevan had no intentions of chatting further with Lucas. He replied with a simple “Oh, “and said no more.
Lucas was not deterred by his indifference. Quite the contrary, he continued
rambling as he attempted to express his excitement. “I didn’t think I’d actually see you here, Mr. Rogers! You know, you’ve always been my idol!”
Kevan nodded indifferently. “Are we leaving or not?” he asked Larissa.
He turned and started walking in the opposite direction. Larissa followed hurriedly.
Lucas followed the two of them and leaned closer toward Larissa. “Is Mr. Rogers your friend?” he whispered.
Friend? Of course not. But she did say before that her friend would be here to pick her up. She just didn’t know why Dylan had turned into Kevan-
Larissa was faced with a dilemma. She swallowed and nodded lightly.
Lucas‘ eyes sparkled.
“In that case, can you introduce me to Mr. Rogers? I want to be friends with him too!” He grabbed her hands.
“I-” Larissa glanced at Kevan’s cool and elegant silhouette. She hesitated for a long time before she finally replied, “I’ll have to ask Mr. Rogers himself about it.”Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Kevan did not hear footsteps behind him for a long time. He stopped and turned around, catching sight of Larissa and Lucas‘ joined hands.
Larissa felt an icy gaze on her face. She looked back and met the flickering eyes of Kevan directly.
His soft lips were pressed into a straight line, and the corners of his mouth were downturned. His face was completely expressionless.
Unexpectedly, Larissa thought that Kevan’s mood was not very pleasant at the moment.
However, Lucas seemed to be entirely clueless about it, so much so that he grinned at Kevan, showing a line of his white teeth.
Kevan narrowed his eyes. “What are you chatting so happily about?” he asked.
Lucas, a grown man, blushed. He lowered his head in bewilderment. Subconsciously, he squeezed Larissa’s hands even harder.
“No–nothing,” he stammered.
Kevan looked at Larissa.
His gaze was so intense that Larissa couldn’t bear looking at him anymore. She turned her face away.
Lucas was worried that she would betray his “secret.” He pinched her arm softly.
Having received his signal, Larissa swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.” Nothing,” she said instead.
“Very well.” Kevan smiled, though his smile barely reached his eyes.
Dylan rushed into the emergency room and spotted Kevan immediately. However, the direction Kevan was walking in was the complete opposite of where Dylan was.
“Why are you out here?” Dylan asked. “Where’s Larissa?”
Keyan huffed coldly. His shoulders brushed past Dylan as he left.
Dylan was confused. The questions in his mind were only answered when he saw Larissa and Lucas walking toward him together.
“And you are?” Dylan smiled and looked at Lucas, directing his question to Larissa.
Larissa did not know how to introduce Lucas. She said simply, “He was the one who
sent me to the hospital.”
Lucas didn’t dare take credit for this. He scratched the back of his head and smiled
shyly, “Actually, I was the one who almost hit Ms. Seymour.”
Dylan immediately stopped trying to be nosy and his expression became much more serious. “What do you mean?”
Larissa pursed her lips. “I’ll tell you about it in the car.”
Lucas was preparing to follow them to the parking lot when Larissa pointed at his silver Mercedes parked in the middle of the road in front of the hospital and reminded him, “I think the traffic police are issuing you a ticket.”
“What? Oh!” Lucas immediately retrieved a name card from his jacket and handed it to Larissa before running toward his car hurriedly. He shouted as he ran, “Ms. Seymour! Remember what i told you!”
Dylan stared at his retreating figure for a few seconds before saying to Larissa. “This man…is quite an interesting person.”
Larissa felt the same way. “Indeed.
