Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 1216

Mia jumped online with a playful jab, "Haven't any of you ever been parents? Kids can't manage adult toilets, so mine always handles business outdoors."

Before Kon could even think it over, Mia quickly added, "Don't get all worked up. He's just a little kid who can barely string a sentence together or walk straight. What's he really gonna do? If you've got questions for me, spit 'em out. I just want to enjoy life; I haven't had my fill of good times yet."

Kon took a step forward, "Who took out Vulture?"

Before Mia could answer, Annie, who had been faking unconsciousness on the ground, sat up, shook her head to clear the fog, and asked, "Who are you guys?"

Annie had been out cold, but she knew she'd been grabbed because of Conner. Listening to Mia buying time with her chatter, she kept up her act until she saw Henry being safely led away by Mia. No one else might catch on, but as sweetie's godmother, who'd been through sweetie's antics more times than she could count, she knew that if Henry wasn't watched carefully, he'd vanish in no time. The more you called for him, the quieter he got.

When Mia was being grilled, Annie took her chance to "come to" and started to ask what was on her mind. "Where's Conner?"

Kon turned around, looked at the woman on the floor, and crouched down, "You're quite the officer, aren't you? Conner's lucky to have you. No wonder your sister's so protective."

Annie realized, "You messed with my phone. My sister didn't lay a finger on Conner. He went home for his mom's memorial, and by the looks of it, he hasn't even touched down yet."

Seeing her sister's message had made her rush out without thinking, but now she was calmer. Did this mean they knew how close she was with her sister, and that her sister had always wanted to get back at Conner? "My sister's always been with you guys!"

"Smart, but a little late," Kon mocked.noveldrama

Annie scoffed, "If my sister were here, she'd finish you for snatching me."

Kon wasn't fazed, "Kill me? Officer Chapman, you're a bit too innocent. Haven't you'dealt with frame jobs before? All I have to do is take you out and pin it on Conner. That just make your sister's grudge against him even worse."

Annie sneered, "You really think my sister's that gullible?" "Women, always long on hair, short on smarts," Kon retorted.

Meanwhile, over at the Dark Web hideout, Maja was on edge, unable to shake the feeling something was wrong. She kept thinking about her sister so she called home for e reassurance. "Hey, Mom, how's my little sis doing?"

Louisa was in tears, "Oh, Maja, thank goodness you called. Your sister's in a jam."

"What?" Maja's eyes flashed with intensity.

Five minutes later, she stormed out, glanced at the guards at the door, and asked again, "Where's Kon?"

"Mr. Kon went to see a friend," one guard said.

Maja whipped out a gun and shot the lying guard without hesitation, then turned to the other, "Did Kon mess with my sister?"

The other guard, looking at his fallen comrade, snapped, "Maja, where do you get off killing one of our-"

Another shot echoed, and Maja left, her face a mask of cold resolve.

Back at the suburban mansion, Mia was keeping an eye on the clock. Ten minutes had passed. Normally, her son would be crying to be picked up if he spent more than three minutes in the bathroom, and if he was gone for over five minutes, he'd definitely be hiding. More than ten minutes... well, let's just say finding him would be a whole adventure in itself.
