Submitting to My Ex-Wife novel (Pearl and Marc)

Chapter 46

Chapter 46

If they couldn’t be husband and wife, they could be friends. What if they couldn’t be

friends?

Pearl’s question stumped Lucas.

Lucas thought hard for a while. Although he had been in many relationships, he had never been married and had never experienced the hardships of marriage. He really could not think of a conclusion, so he simply threw the question to Marc. “What do you think?”

Marc looked deeply at Pearl. Under her mocking smile, Marc seemed to see the sadness and devastation hidden below.

Marc remembered that on the day he mentioned the divorce to Pearl, she was sad. She was so sad that she even asked him humbly, “Could we not divorce?”

During that time, Marc didn’t feel particularly pained or reluctant. He only wanted to end that loveless marriage as soon as possible, give the woman he loved a warm family, and give Pearl freedom.

But why did Marc’s heart skip a beat when Pearl asked that question?

It was as if a big hand had grabbed Marc’s heart tightly.

“Why did you marry me in the first place?” Marc asked again.

Pearl frowned. Why was Marc still struggling with this question?

“I told you. It doesn’t matter. We’re divorced now. I have nothing to do with you anymore. That’s all that matters.”

Pearl said this in a loud and clear voice. Then, she tugged at Lucas’s neck. “Let’s go!”

“Oh, I’m prone to tripping like this, go slower…” Lucas huffed and puffed, stumbling along

behind Pearl.

Pearl had just walked out of the door when someone grabbed her other wrist.

Marc chased after Pearl and could not help but ask, “You’re the daughter of the Woolery

family. You’re not after fame or profit. Why did you come to my side and marry me when I was almost paralyzed in a car accident? What exactly are you after?”

Marc’s voice was neither loud nor soft, but it was like a huge rock had been thrown into the lake, stirring up a storm in the CEO’s office.

When Samuel took the elevator over, he happened to hear this sentence. His pupils

constricted too.

The entire CEO’s office was silent. Everyone’s faces were filled with shock..

What did Marc say?

Pearl had actually gotten married before?

This meant that this man was Pearl’s ex–husband!

Pearl did not want to talk to Marc, but he insisted on getting to the bottom of it.

Pearl lowered her gaze to look at Marc holding her hand, then raised her eyes to lock onto his. He had an unwavering determination in his eyes, making her find the situation truly laughable and absurd, as if she couldn’t fathom the reason behind it.

Pearl let go of Lucas’s hand and faced Marc coldly. “Let go.”

Marc had never liked to have intimate contact with women, but he wanted an answer

today. He was afraid that if he let go, Pearl would run away again and avoid him. Not only did Marc not let go, but he also tightened her grip on her wrist.

“If you tell me the answer, I’ll let go.”

Pearl’s chest was suffocated as she glared at Marc. This person had always been quite self– respecting. How did he become so persistent and intrusive now?

Pearl wanted to break free, but Marc held her tightly.

An unnamed anger welled up in Pearl. Pearl looked Marc straight in the eye. “What answer do you want to hear?”

Marc was stunned. “I…”

“Do you want to hear how much I love you? Do you want to hear that I’ve had a crush on you for many years, which is why I went to your side to take care of you when you were about to be paralyzed from a car accident? Or do you want to hear that I fell in love with you at first sight and had to marry you?”

Pearl asked a few questions in a row before saying in a deep voice, “Marc, haven’t your neglected and humiliated me enough in the past three years?”

Marc’s eyes darkened.

While Marc was in a daze, Pearl pulled her wrist away from his palm. Perhaps it was because Marc had held it too tightly just now that there was still a trace of burning pain on

Pearl’s wrist.

Pearl gently moved her wrist, her expression indescribably cold.

“Marc, no matter why I married you back then, I haven’t let you down in the past three. years. On the contrary, you’ve let me down. You’re the one who didn’t cherish marriage, you’re the one who neglected your wife, you’re the one who cheated, and you’re the one who proposed a divorce. What did I do wrong? Is it because I gave you too much freedom?”

Pearl laughed self–deprecatingly. “In the past, you loved Clarissa, not me. Now that you know her true colors, you choose not to love her anymore. This has nothing to do with me. We’re already divorced. It can’t be that after we’re divorced, you suddenly realized how good I am and suddenly realized that you can’t leave me and want me to return to your side, right?”

Marc’s heart ached, and a trace of embarrassment flashed across his face.

These days, Marc was indeed a little abnormal. Even he did not know what he was doing.

Could it be that Pearl’s words were the truth that Marc was trying his best to hide?

However, even Marc felt that it was indescribably ridiculous and laughable.

“I’m here to talk about a partnership.”

Marc seemed to be trying his best to find a foothold. He looked at Pearl with a serious

expression. “I’m also interested in that piece of land in the northern suburbs.”

“But I’m not interested in you.”

Pearl did not show any mercy. She turned to Lucas and said, “Back then, I only agreed to cooperate with you and did not allow you to pull in a third party. Do you not trust me, or do you not have the ability to take 40% of the shares? If you can’t do it, I’ll pull someone else

1. in.

“Of course, I can!” Seeing that Pearl was about to fall out with him, Lucas quickly said, “How can a man say no?”

Pearl rolled her eyes at Lucas. “Then cut the crap and get him to leave!”

Pearl cast another glance at the assistants who were watching the commotion with excitement and uttered coldly, “Those of you who have had your fill of entertainment, get back to work seriously. You’d better keep your mouths shut. If anyone dares to talk about today’s events, you’ll be fired on the spot.”

The employees of the CEO’s office lowered their heads and went back to work.

Pearl brought Mason and the others down. Lucas patted Marc’s shoulder. “You’ve seen her attitude. Give up, Marc. You had better go back to Machodean obediently. Leave your ex- wife to me.

Lucas muttered an annoying comment and then scurried to catch up, saying, “Pearl, wait for me!”

They parted on bad terms again.

Marc slowly tightened his hands by his side. He pursed his lips tightly as he watched. Pearl’s cold and thin figure leave.

It was hard to pinpoint exactly when it started, but Pearl had stopped smiling in front of Marc a long time ago. And it was equally challenging to determine when she began presenting him with nothing but cold, distant silhouettes.

Pearl still wouldn’t give Marc the answer he wanted.

“Mr. Males, let’s go.” Thomas couldn’t stand it anymore. Marc was really too pitiful!

Thomas had now witnessed just how formidable a gentle woman could be when she turned ruthless. For a man, there was no punishment more severe than this. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Once a good–tempered person lost his or her temper, it was too scary.

Marc was about to leave when Samuel came up to him.

“Mr. Males, I’m Samuel Goodman, the Vice President of Woolery Group. Is it convenient for us to talk?”
