Sold To The Mafia Lord

Traveled Into Time

Amelia had initially thought that the door led to an office space of a prominent employee but she was surprised to see that it was an open office filled with employees.

Amelia estimated that there were up to six employees occupying the space, each facing their laptops and computers.

When they saw Alexander, they hurriedly got up and were about to greet him when he shut the door without much expression.

The employees were the Company’s legal practitioners. they consist of men and women.

“What just happened??” An older lady asked while the others shrugged their shoulders in utter confusion.

“Have no idea” a man said and sat back on his chair to continue his work.

Amelia was impressed by how it was arranged, they didn’t need to see employees moving around or working.

The arrangements were good.

Amelia glazed around and walked behind the man who had a straight back.

Amelia looked at Alexander and paid more attention to his back view, he had broad shoulders which made him more charismatic.

“What position does George occupy??” Amelia asked as they walked towards the CEO’s office.

“He is a shareholder and also a director here,” Alexander said shortly and Amelia hummed.

“Where will I be occupying then??” She asked as she didn’t see a table and desk close to the door of The CEO’s office which got her confused for a while.

Alexander didn’t answer too quickly as he opened his door and walked in.

His office wasn’t too of a topic to say, it was the typical office but had a bit of riches to it, the interiors were all from high grades, too brand.

The office was spacious and luxurious.

But the office lacked a touch of humanity as it was too bland and too serious looking like the occupant.

“You’ve got a nice office” Amelia complimented “Ah too bad, only if the owner was as good as the building,” she said that small in a low voice.

“You know, if you could channel your hateful speeches to this work, I estimate that I could earn about six more clients,” Alexander said with a serious expression as if he was thinking.

Amelia immediately glared at him “I won’t say anything to that as I don’t want you thinking ”

“And why will I think??” Alexander asked as he sat on his table to face Amelia.

Amelia stood close to him, she gazed at him again and that look of sympathy flashed past her eyes, she wanted to say;” I don’t want you thinking how life would have been if your girlfriend was your wife and you didn’t get to marry me, you must be torn and had to explain everything to your girlfriend”

Alexander frowned when he saw that look again and this time he was more certain that she was taking pity on him.

He searched through him why she had to pity him and his expression didn’t look good anymore as his frown deepened even more.

Amelia swallowed her words as she didn’t want to start telling him soothing words and it might seem stupid.

So she just swallowed her words and said rather ” Nothing though”

Alexander narrowed his eyes at her “What do you want to say?? Just spit it out” Alexander wasn’t happy about her sudden change of character towards him. From the very moment he walked into the office earlier, she had being overly calm towards him and so serious and that…. that look she gave him.

“I’m not hiding anything, let’s just get down to business,” Amelia said because she had made a promise to herself that she wouldn’t want to spoil or create a rift between Alexander and his lover so she wanted to make it look more business and not that playful times, she wanted to give him space to deal with his love life.

Alexander used his fingers to flick her on the forehead “Be good”

Amelia swallowed hard and didn’t say anything more and just rubbed the place Alexander had flicked.

Alexander looked quizzically at Amelia and he confirmed that everything wasn’t well, the Amelia he knew would not stay still after getting her forehead hit by him.

It’s either she scolded him or tried to hit him back but she just rubbed it and said nothing more.

He wanted to ask her what the problem was but he went against it, it wasn’t his business anyway, maybe she was on her period as he heard that women on their period tend to act differently from their usual selves, they were moody.

“Let’s get down to business then, since it was a last-minute decision and I didn’t get the chance to arrange a new office, for the time being, you will be sharing an office space with me,” Alexander said while hiding his true thoughts.

“Eh??” Amelia didn’t quite get what he said as she was focused on looking at him with a close and keen eye, thinking of ways to keep her distance from him.

Alexander sighed and said “What’s gotten into you lately?? You are so lost as if you traveled into time” Alexander wasn’t happy with her current behavior.

Amelia thought that she was being foolish right now, was she so obvious??This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“And if you are thinking if your behavior is obvious?? Of course, it is and it’s very irritating”

“I’m-I’m sorry, it won’t happen again,” Amelia said with a low head, she had never been this submissive to a man before but she didn’t know why she felt more remorseful.

Alexander didn’t say a word and looked at her for a while before getting off the table and going to take his seat.

Amelia cleared her throat and looked at him while he gestured for her to sit opposite him and she did so.

“I said that you’ll be occupying this office with me” Alexander emphasized this time and Amelia just nodded her head without further ado.

“Okay, since it’s just an intro today and I’ll be your assistant officially by tomorrow, I got to go now,” Amelia said and Alexander gazed at her deeply

“Where??”

“What I told you about, I got to go meet the best couples of the year,” Amelia said while getting up from the chair and Alex could tell who she was referring to.

“Do you want me to accompany you??” Alexander asked as he wasn’t comfortable with her going there alone.

“No, no need, I can take care of things myself,” Amelia said and walked towards the door while Alexander sat there, looking at her intently while trying to think of the reason she had suddenly become so distant from him.

Amelia opened the door and walked out while closing the door behind her, Alex sighed as he relaxed on the chair.

For the past two days that he got drunk and slept in Amelia’s room, he didn’t understand himself as the thoughts of Amelia clouded his mind, he was so concerned about her and now that she was acting weird, his mind was busy thinking what must have gone wrong.

“Arghh” Alex grabbed his hair and shook his head as if to wipe his thought just then the door opened and Amelia stuck her head into the office and Alexander was stunned to see her.

Amelia flashed him a wide smile from behind the door and he felt as if something pressed down on his chest as that exciting feeling built up in his belly and his heart fought in his rib cage.
