Hate And Venom
The next day, Amelia had miraculously recovered from her injury, and Ash and George arrived at the house. Mrs. Gale, had gone out of her way to prepare a lavish feast for the occasion. The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation as everyone gathered around the table.
The dining room was adorned with beautiful decorations, and the aroma of the freshly cooked food filled the air. The table was overflowing with a variety of delicacies, ranging from delectable appetizers to mouthwatering main courses and decadent desserts. It was evident that Mrs. Gale had put a lot of effort and love into preparing this feast.
“Heyy aunt Gale, How’ve you been doing??” George walked towards Mrs Gale leisurely with a smile dancing on his lips.
“Ah! Boy you’re doing well now, see how tall you are and also handsome” Mrs Gale laughed along with George.
“But not as good looking as You!”
“Good child, such a sweet mouth” Who didn’t like to get compliments?? Mrs Gale wasn’t exceptional when Complimented.
As they sat down to enjoy the meal, the conversation flowed easily. George, always the life of the party, regaled everyone with his witty anecdotes and charming personality. Laughter echoed through the room as he shared his amusing adventures.
However, the dinner took an awkward turn when Ash, seemingly unaware of the discomfort she was causing, began reminiscing about her childhood experiences with Alexander. She shared stories of their escapades, from the time they stumbled upon a hidden treasure in their backyard to the time they got lost in the woods during a family camping trip.
“Alex do you remember when you fell in a well that day?? Gosh aunt Ron was scolding Alexander throughout the day!” Ash giggled as she took her fork
George laughed along as well “and whoever talked with Alex that day, had to be in a no talking terms for two days straight and Liam fell victim haha” George began to reminisce with Ash as they talked and enjoyed the meal.
Alexander studied Amelia’s expression, it seems his assignment throughout that day was to keep studying her expressions to know if she was angry or not.
Amelia felt a pang of jealousy rising within her. It was no secret that Ash had always harbored feelings for Alexander, and her constant reminders of their shared history only served to amplify Amelia’s insecurities. She discreetly glanced at Alexander, hoping to find some reassurance in his expression, but his face revealed nothing.
“Okay that’s e enough already, I don’t dwell in the past but the present” Alexander suddenly said when noticing Amelia’s discomfort and the side gazes she was giving him.
Mrs. Gale, sensing the tension in the room, attempted to lighten the mood by interjecting with amusing anecdotes of her own. She recounted tales from her own youth, sharing embarrassing moments and funny mishaps that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
Despite Mrs. Gale’s efforts, the awkwardness lingered. It was clear that Ash’s unintentional insensitivity had struck a Nerve.
Ash snorted as she looked at Amelia who was eating, sitting beside Alexander.
Very soon, she would be the one next to Alex.
Amelia struggled to maintain her composure, trying to push aside the feelings of doubt and insecurity that threatened to consume her.
As the evening wore on, Amelia made a conscious effort to shift the focus of the conversation. She shared stories of her own adventures, highlighting the times she had overcome challenges and achieved personal milestones. Her intention was to remind everyone, including herself, of her own worth and the unique bond she shared with Alexander.
Alexander smiled as he gazed deeply at her eyes with a small smile, thinking when was the right time to confess his feelings for Amelia.
Amelia caught his gaze and raised both brows at him.
Alexander let out a small chuckle when seeing her cute expression, it was rear to see Amelia’s cute side, she always had that strong and feisty look on.
Seeing that smile on Alexander’s face, Amelia’s mind began to wander as she flushed on the cheek. What’s he looking at??
Ash’s gaze caught their secret connection and conversation they were having.
She pressed her fork on the plate with a terrible expression as she glared hard at Amelia with heaps of Hatred mixed with Anger.
George nudged Ash on the arm that broke her from her reverie “what’s wrong with you?? You look so red” Ash gave him an awkward smile and shook her head.
“No I’m okay”
Alexander raised his head from his food and looked at Ash, his eyes didn’t linger on her as he turn to Amelia and dropped a dessert of cake on her plate.
Amelia showed a small smile as she dig her fork into the cake “So yummy!” Amelia muttered as she taste it and let the softness melt in her mouth.
Alexander loved that satisfied look on her face, his lip tinted up with a grin.
He had really changed a lot since he discovered his love for Amelia and when he had firsthand experienced the feeling of when Amelia wasn’t with him, even if it was just for few minutes, he wasn’t happy.
He knew that suffocating feeling.
“Okay how about we play a game??” George decided to clear the already tensed Air as he recommended they play a game.
Amelia smiled at that, That was what she had being waiting for so she didn’t waste anytime to say “how about a game of truth and Dare”Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
In every gathering of friends, There was must be a Game.
That she knew!
George who was always a fan of such childish games, immediately agreed to it “Okay, I’m totally in”
Amelia smiled at George before turning to Alexander that was sitting beside her.
George got up from his chair to go look for an empty bottle
Alexander wasn’t a fan of games, but when seeing Amelia’s expectant eyes, he sighed.
Amelia nudged his arm a bit with a probing gaze, Alexander looked at her in the eyes before leaning towards her.
Amelia stiffened a bit when She saw Alexander coming towards her, what was he going to do??
Alexander leaned towards her ear and whisper “I’ll only be playing this game because of you want me to, but what would I get as a reward??”
Amelia swallowed hard.
