Moving Out
DUE to the death threat that Helios has been receiving, he convinced Zoe and her family to leave California and get back to Manhattan. At first, Zoe didn’t like the idea because her aunt’s café was in Cali, but considering the danger, she then agreed, and they couldn’t believe that Helios put them in a private subdivision, and they got the chance to live in a mansion. A red Ferrari stopped in front of the mansion. The men in black ran to the front gate. They pulled out their guns and aimed at the vehicle. Zoe, who is currently in the control room of the mansion, is also worried. She walks back and forth as she looks at the monitors. She’s worrying that the person inside the expensive red car might be a suicide bomber or what. Coincidentally, Helios isn’t there yet. Helios said that he needed to attend an important meeting in Brooklyn. Her eyes widened when she recognized the person who got out of the car. “Open the gate. Do not shoot,” she said with her authoritative voice. The men outside heard what she said through the speakers attached to the bottom of the closed-circuit television cameras. She walked outside the room. “For goodness’ sake! Are they trying to kill us? And what’s with the guns?!” her friend Cindy shouted. “Why do you seem to be in a hurry as you drive?” “What? I’m not the one who drives.” Zoe looked at the driver’s side of the car. Her eyes narrowed as she could not see the driver. “Then who?” Cindy rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “It’s the monkey who’s driving. Let’s go,” Cindy said and pulled Zoe inside the mansion. “Hey! Who’s the driver? And who’s the monkey?” “Don’t bother about—” Cindy couldn’t finish what she was going to say when the driver blew the car's horn. “Damn it!” Cindy cussed out. Even Zoe was shocked but didn’t react like her friend. It seemed as if something had crossed her mind about who was driving the car. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
She formed an O in her mouth. "Whoa, you and Calyx—Calyx owns the red Ferrari?” “Shut up! Hurry up and walk. I badly want to see my beautiful goddaughter,” Cindy said as she diverted the topic. Zoe shook her head. “Yeah. She’s inside, playing with Beige.” “Who’s this Beige? I don’t think you mention anything to me every time we chat, hmmm…” asked Cindy. “You’ll see,” she answered. When they finally got inside the house, Cindy immediately left her and ran to her daughter. She picked it up and lifted the young girl who seemed astonished by Cindy. Her daughter just silently looked at Cindy until the young girl pouted and looked in her direction. “You startled my daughter, witch,” she said as she approached them. The young girl tried to reach her, but she didn’t take it. She just smiled at her, which made the child even sadder until she cried. “Aw, my baby, she cried because her godmother was beautiful,” said Cindy. Zoe then slaps the woman’s shoulder. She took her child to calm her down. “You’re bitching out. Just let your companion get inside. You’re keeping a secret now, huh?” “Huh? I don’t hide secrets, a dud. He was just forced to accompany me.” “You blackmailed him?” she asked. “Heh! Wait, who’s that kid?” asked Cindy when she saw Beige climbing down the stairs. “That’s Beige, Amanda’s son,” she replied. “Amanda? As in, Amanda the bitch—Your evil cousin?” Cindy asked unbelievably. Cindy knew about Amanda because Zoe told her too when they were exchanging secrets at the café. “The one and only—hey witch! You made me nervous. I thought you’re some sort of villain riding in an expensive car,” she said as she averted the topic. “Stupid. I’m more nervous because it seems like your men want to shoot us anytime—wait,” Cindy sat down on the sofa, and she followed. Good thin, her daughter has already stopped crying, and the young girl seems like listening to them. “Why do you have many bodyguards?” “They’re from Helios.” “So, you and Helios are really on good terms? No more drama or secrets?”
“Crazy. Of course, we’re okay,” she answered. “Okay, and you owe me that story.” “Duh, I already told you about it when we had facetime, remember? You will be the one who owes me a story,” she said. “And what would I tell you? About Calyx and me?” Zoe nodded. “Duh, we don’t have a thing, okay? It’s just that he owes me. So, the kid beside you was Amanda’s son? And where is she?” “She’s in her room, locking herself up.” “What?! Why is she locking herself up? What’s wrong with her?” “I don’t know. Since she showed up to us three weeks ago, she’s been like that—acting weird.” “Maybe she’s going through something. Or her conscience was bothering her. You know, she’s a devil.” Zoe ignored what just Cindy said. “Cal!” she turned to the man who was approaching them. “Long time no see,” said Zoe. She knew the man even though Cindy had never introduced him to her. He’s also popular in the business industry. “Sit next to Cindy. Are you her new bodyguard?” she pointed to her friend. But Cindy just glares at her. “No.’ “Don’t mind him, Zoe. We’re discussing an important matter, remember?” “What? I’m just gr—” “Excuse me, can you just accompany him into the kitchen? Give him some juice and give us some too,” said Cindy to one of their maids named Elena. Helios is really that annoying and even gave them maids. And she can’t do anything at all. Zoe saw the efforts of the man, and he was really trying to catch up to them. Her friend's command seems like she owns the house. She then heaved a deep sigh. Cindy is always Cindy. Nothing had changed in her attitude. It seems like she’s getting worse than before. And she will not believe that nothing is going on between her and Calyx.”
“Hey, don’t treat my guest like that,” she said. “What did I do? You must offer him some drinks, right? You’re the owner, but you didn’t even bother to ask me? what kind of people are you?” Cindy said, talking nonsense. “You know what, one more talk, and I will plaster your mouth. Cal, sit down,” she said to the man. Calyx then nodded and sat on the one-seater sofa. “Aunt, I’m hungry,” said Beige. “Okay, baby. Nanny Elena will get some snacks for you. Elena, prepare us snacks, please. Thank you.” “Yes, Ma’am.” “Aunt can I play with Hela again?” asked Beige. Zoe nodded. “Go get your toys first,” she said and pointed to the storage box beside the huge cabinet. “So…” she turned to Cal, “what brought you here, Cal?” “Nothin—" “I’m talking to Cal, Cindy,” she said. “Helios told me to come over. Your friend just tagged herself along. She suddenly showed up from nowhere and entered my car without my consent—" Cindy threw the pillow to Calyx, but the man seemed to have high reflexes, and he caught it. “Jerk shut the f—" “You’re the one who shut up, Cindy. I’m not talking to you,” said Zoe, who seemed annoyed with her friend. Cindy just folded her arms and leaned on the armrest of the sofa. When Cindy and Calyx’s eyes met, she rolled her eyes. "Helios ordered you to come here? For a visit? Are you too close to each other?" she asked. “Yeah. He said that I’d just wait for him here. We have something important to talk about. And about her,” she pointed to Cindy, “she said. She escaped her meeting and climbed into my car because she had already missed you. I don’t know if she’s telling the truth or she’s been stalking me all the time.”
Cindy sat properly. “What?! Stalking you?” “Isn’t it?” Calyx asked and smiled foolishly. “Dream on!’ “Hep, stop that. Why did Helios send you here if he can call you by phone?” “Things that we’re going to talk about can’t be casually discussed through phone,” Calyx said meaningfully. Cindy did not intervene again in their conversation, and she was grateful for that.
