Sold To A Billionaire

Don't Be Afraid

“ALL I need is an update, Grant! Why can’t you give it to me? I already paid you!” Helios’s thunderous voice boomed inside his office at the penthouse. Grant is standing in front of him. “I am doing my best—” “You all have the sources, but why are you having a hard time locating her?” Grant pinched the bridge of his nose as he met Helios’s gaze. “What you are doing will cause trouble, Helios. You have to think—” “I don't fucking care! All I want is to see her!” he yelled. Grant sighed. “I will look for her again. But I am telling you, it’s so hard. My informant is a skilled one, but still, she’s having a hard time. It seems like someone is hiding her—” “Don’t add bullshit to your shit, Grant!” Grant frowned. “I am your cousin, but you’re telling me those things?” Helios glared at Grant. “Don’t make me say that you’re useless.” Grant let out a soft chuckle. “But you already said it. Whatever, pussy-whipped. I will find your girl,” he said and was about to turn around when Helios spoke. “I will give you until tomorrow—” “Why don’t you go and find her?” Grant asked, and this time, he was a little bit pissed off. Helios glared at him. “Father is watching me.” Grant scoffed. “It’s so hard to be a son of a mafia boss. Good thing, my parents are just business—” “They’re part of the clan, but your father refused. Remember, you are under my father’s command. And sooner my command—” “And do you think I follow the rules?” Grant asked, arching his brow while he put his hands inside his pockets. “I am much willing to break the rules, Helios. It’s because that’s what I want, and I am not a COWARD,” he emphasizes the last word, making Helios clench his fist. “If you’re letting your father control you….” Grant shook his head, “—I swear, you can’t defend Zoe.” After that, Grant left Helios speechless. When Grant closes the door, Helios grabs his glass that was on the table and throws it on the wall in anger.

AS promised, Zoe treated Cindy to dinner. They dine in that fancy restaurant, and their aunt Millie and Zoe’s mom entertained them. “Does mom know about the owner of this restaurant?” I suddenly asked Cindy. Cindy nodded and said, “yes.” Zoe’s heart thumped so fast. This isn’t good for her. She has a bad feeling about it. But she still tried to calm down. “I don’t know what’s going on. But I want you to know that I am always here for you. If you need help, you can tell me,” Cindy said. Zoe smiled and nodded. After a few moments, their orders came, and Zoe saw her mom walking toward them. “Hello, pretty ladies. Enjoy your meal,” Iris said and winked at her daughter. Zoe smiled and replied, “Thank you, Ma.” No one dared to talk while they were eating. They asked for Iris and Millie’s presence to join them, but the two said they were not off duty yet. Zoe tried to eat everything that they ordered, but she couldn’t make it. It seems like she suddenly lost her appetite. Cindy saw this but tried to stay blind and continue eating until she was finished. She grabbed her glass of wine and drank into it. “Do you want to walk at the park or go straight home?” Cindy asked. “Home,” Zoe replied simply. “Don’t let problems evade you, Zoe. It’s bad for our health,” Cindy said, making Zoe nod and smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “You really love him that much, do you?” Zoe met Cindy’s gaze and pressed her lips together. Nothing slipped out of her mouth. “I don’t want to ask more things, but let him find you and talk about your situation. Don’t let anyone hinders your love for each other. If he comes and finds you, it proves that he loves you. Men are sometimes egoistic, and it’s hard for them to confess their true feelings. Thus, they were enveloped by cowardliness. Helios is brave enough to confess because I know that he thinks of you more than

his pride. He was ready to be rejected. He took the risk. But you let someone meddle with your love… his father.” Zoe’s shoulders dropped. Her heart seemed shattered. It was aching and shouting regrets. She knew it was her fault, but she thought that she had done the right thing. But it turns out that it will only complicate things. She loves Helios. The thing that she can’t deny for this moment. It was just… she was too late to accept it for herself. If only… there she is with the word IF. If only she let her heart decide… then she must not feel heartbroken at the moment. What would she feel when Helios was her boyfriend? What is the feeling of having one? But love shouldn’t be rushed. Emotions and thoughts clouded her at those times, and she couldn’t just let them push her into the pit. And she knew her emotions were triggered by Helios’s wants… marriage. Hearing this sacred word, her mind was frightened. If Helios said that he loved her without the marriage, maybe she accepted it. But because marriage is all he wants, her mind gets confused and makes a complicated decision. She felt fear. “You knew Zoe that you love him. If a chance came in, please don’t let it slip away. I may not be there for a long time, but when you told me about it. I suddenly traced the connections and valued your feelings. As your friend, don’t be afraid to take a risk. Because WE all do, we take risks in everything. Don’t be afraid to fail because failure will always lead you to success. If you love him, then accept it. That’s it.” Zoe sighed, and tears began to cloud her vision, but she suddenly wiped them away. “I want to go home, Cindy,” she said.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
