Chapter 23 - Welcome Home, Again!
It's been three months since Jada left for Europe and in a couple of days, she'll be back. She even called their friends several times while she was there, so even Lyken was updated as to how she was doing.
According to Honey, Jada's planning to go out of town to celebrate her birthday. Everyone's excited, of course.
Ada and Bambi have already prepared their clothes, while Kobe and Honey are in charge of looking for a resort. The rest were not assigned anything though, they just have to come.
They were drinking at Jada's unit when Bambi's Skype account rang. Lyken knew who was calling so he transferred seats so he wouldn't be seen.
"Byotches! I'm coming home tomorrow!" she informed them excitedly and they were indeed surprised.
"Really? Why are you back early?" Honey asked.
"So we're leaving for Huesca immediately," Bambi seconded.
"Are we gonna pick you up?" Ada butted in. Jada laughed at them and hearing that made Lyken's heart skip a beat.
"Hold up! Calm your tits! Yes, I'm coming back earlier than scheduled, but that's because the last leg of the event will be held in Centro. Meaning, we can't leave for Huesca right away. We can just follow the original schedule, we can leave after
the 3-day event. Also, you guys don't have to pick me up, Kristoff will do that. Was everything covered?" she asked after trying to answer all the questions thrown at her.
Honey, Bambi, and Ada nodded in unison. Honey even stole a glance at Lyken and Steve tapped his shoulder, but he just shrugged it off.
"Also, I can't stay online for long, I still need to pack up. I only have three hours before our flight, we're leaving the hotel in an hour," Jada explained.
Her flight is at midnight, local time. She'll get here around three in the afternoon, that is if Lyken's calculations were correct and if there are no problems with their flight.
"By the way, before I forget, Bambi, can you please bring out the huge box inside my bedroom? The one right next to my bed. Make sure it's thrown out before I get there or I'll burn those with you!"
"Sure Ja, I'll bring it out after our call. Do you have clothes there? Is there anything there that will fit me?" Bambi asked.
"Nope! Those are useless stuff so just throw them all out," then she laughed. Before they could ask her again, someone called Jada and told her something, "They're already on their way down, so I need to get going. I love you byotches! See you!" Then she ended the call.
After the call ended, Bambi immediately went into Jada's room. When he came out, he was pushing out a huge box filled with random stuff.
"What are those?" Honey asked as she peeked inside.
Kobe stood up to look into it as well. He took something from the box and exchanged glances with Honey before turning to Lyken.
"Dude, wasn't this a gift from you?"Kobe asked.
He was holding a life-sized teddy bear, it was a gift Lyken gave Jada for their first anniversary. Honey took something as well, it was a small box and after looking at it, she passed it on to him. Inside the box are movie tickets. The receipt from the restaurant where they had their first date is also there. The prints' already erased, but there's something written at the back. 'First date with Ly.'
There's also a small booklet with flower petals glued on its pages. On the cover of the booklet, 'From Him,' was written. These look like flower petals from the bouquets he gave her. Inside the box is the locket Lyken gave her for her debut, as well as the charm bracelet. The one they promised to fill with their happy memories.
She kept all these but now, she wanted them out of her condo. Out of her life. 'Is she letting go?'
Lyken can't stop a tear from escaping. It felt like a huge hand was squeezing his heart, hard. It was painful.
'Why didn't I see this before? Why didn't I see how much she loves me? All I did was give her pain she never deserved.'
Honey sat next to him, moving her hand up and down his back to calm him down. "Honey I'm sorry," he blurted out.
"Sshh Ly. You should say that to Jada, not to me."
Kobe squeezed Lyken's shoulder, "Don't give up, man. If you really love her, then go fight for her. Especially now that you've seen how much she loved you."
He nodded without looking at his best friend. They're right. He needs to fight for Jada or he won't be able to forgive himself if he really loses her.
Lyken can accept it if she won't come back to him. What's important is that she forgives him. For everything that he's done to her. For everything.
"Don't throw it out, Bambi, I'll take it back home.."
The next day, he received a call from Kobe informing him that Jada had arrived. She's now in her condo with the group.
Knowing that, Lyken suddenly felt nervous. He knows that their meeting is inevitable and he needs to prepare himself. He needs to be ready to talk to her and ask for her forgiveness. "Surprise!"
Everyone was indeed surprised when Jada showed up in her unit. No one knew the exact time of her arrival, but they were all there waiting to welcome her.
After hugging her and letting go, Bambi eyed Jada from head to toe. She's wearing a spaghetti-strapped crop top, very short denim shorts, and hi-cut Chucks.
"Wow, byotch! The audacity is next level! Ada commented. "Did you really travel from France wearing that?"
"Why Ada? It suits Jada anyway, she's sexy as fudge!" Robin defended as he whistled in appreciation. Jada noticed how Lyken threw him a death glare and Robin returned it with a peace sign. "Watch it Rob, Lyken's mad!" Jada called him off and Lyken blushed after hearing what she said.
"We missed you girl!" Bambi screamed and was about to hug her but she dodged him.
She went to Lyken and hugged him by the waist instead, "I missed you all too!" she squealed and again, they were all surprised. They were literally silenced because of what she did.

Can't I miss an old friend?" she asked, looking at each one of them with a hand on her waist.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
That is the truth. Despite what happened between them, Lyken and Jada started as close friends back then. If he didn't become her boyfriend, he would have been another Kobe. "W-We didn't say anything!" Steve refuted, pulling her for a hug.
"Steve! Stop molesting Jada... molest me instead please..." it was Ada with an annoying shrill as he hugged Steve from behind.
Steve immediately let go of Jada and wriggled his way out of Ada's hug. He then ran away from him and everyone laughed as Ada started chasing the man.
Because of their friends' skit, Jada didn't notice Honey approached her, "You, silly!" calling her off as she tapped her shoulder and hugged her.
"What? Why?" Jada asked as she followed her toward the kitchen.
She didn't respond. Instead, she just rolled her eyes at Jada and called their friends so they could start eating. When Jada went to the kitchen, that was only then she found out that they prepared for her arrival. She suggested moving everything and eating in her living room instead, so they could all fit in. That's how they do it anyway, back in college.
The guys did the honor of moving the food from the kitchen counter to the coffee table. They brought over two chairs and used them to place the rest of the food.
Jada sat in the middle and leaned on the couch then she closed her eyes. She was actually thinking of what she did to Lyken earlier.
She did what she did to test herself. She wanted to see if she could still be friends with him. Jada needed to do that because they have one circle of friends and she doesn't want to exempt him from anything. 'That's right Jada, let go and move on.'
