Chapter 150
Trevor could not bear to continue listening after she left.
He signaled for the two men to leave with an impatient wave of his hand before moving to stand next to the floor-to-ceiling window. He let out a long sigh as he watched all sorts of people from his window.
The head of market research and development rushed in through the open door. "Chairman, I have bad news. Confidential information regarding our newly developed software has been leaked."
It was needless to say that the department head will not be able to avoid the repercussions of having the software's classified information exposed.
"What happened?" Trevor asked without turning around. His gaze gradually turned somber as he watched the scenery outside the window.
"I'm not sure either. Chairman, believe me when I say that this really has nothing to do with me. I've been working here for so many years, the last time something like this happened was because of Jack..." The department head seemed to come to a realization in the middle of his sentence and hurriedly changed what he wanted to say. "Anyway, Chairman, you know me well. I lack the guts to do something like that."
"Even if it wasn't you, this happened because of your poor supervision. Why should I keep you if you can't even protect confidential information?" Trevor responded coldly.
Working in the Gulliford Group means receiving the best employee treatment in the country. Insurance and housing funds were the bare minimum - annual bonuses and holiday benefits were also provided. No company would dare proclaim itself better than the Gulliford Group.
The only thing to note was that the Gulliford Group's punishments for mistakes were double that of other companies.
"Chairman, I absolutely did not contribute to the problem. Please look into it. The only other person who has read the software's approval documents -besides myself and the staff who worked with me - is you. You're definitely not one to do such a thing either. Oh, that's right!" The department head seemed to recall something all of a sudden and hurriedly pointed at Jessica's desk. "If anyone else knows, it'd be the new secretary. She was the one who handed the document to you."
Trevor's eyes darkened slightly at the department head's words and his expression was unreadable. "You may leave."
"Yes, Chairman." The department head turned to leave immediately.
Jessica was quietly having a cup of coffee in the pantry when a few people from the research and development team walked in all of a sudden.
They deliberately sat at the table beside her and spoke badly of her.
"Hah, I used to think she was a good person. I didn't think that she'd be so evil!"
"This just goes to show that you can never tell what a person is truly like."
"I just can't understand what the Chairman sees in her."
"She's such a capable person after all. So capable that she can even pretend she's crazy."NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
Jessica couldn't bear to listen any further. She stood up furiously and left, the negative emotions in her chest bubbling up to her head. "I'll go mad if things remain this way."

Jessica frowned as the gossip from earlier flashed through her mind. She eventually managed to calm down just as the door to the
stairwell swung open.
"Don't worry."
A clean-shaven man walked in. The few stray hairs at the top of his head and his plaid top and jeans gave away his identity as a programmer.
"Who are you?" Jessica looked up at the man with a puzzled look in her eyes.
She had only been in the company for a few days, but everybody seemed to dislike her.
Even Pamela hated her from the start.
"I'm a programmer in the market research and development
department. I'm also a person under Old Mr. Gulliford." The man introduced himself in a straightforward manner.
"What exactly is going on?" Jessica seemed to have understood something at this point.
